Where the cheapest place to register a domain?

i currently pay 3.99/year for a domain. i was just curious if there happens to be a cheaper one. all i do is register them and then have them hosted right away for free so i dont need 'parking' pages.

Is this from a webhost ? Anyway they are selling at a loss since the cost of a .com to them is $6.86 and $4.23 for .net. This is what they pay Verisign (the registry), assuming you use an accredited registrar and not a reseller.
Webhosts can afford to sell domains below actual value as they make profits on hosting and ancillary services.

I will just say, avoid the middleman and use reputable, accredited registrars only, in particular for valuable domains. It's not worthwhile to go with lousy registrars/resellers just to save a buck or two.

Saying that, yes there are cheaper prices available. Some webhosts will give you domains for free as long as you host with them. But make sure they are reliable and that you are always in control of your domain names.

renewel fee is the same 3.99/year. no extra fees, no transfer fees. and use a different site to host them on.

Registerfly must die!

I loved Registerfly!!! The main problem with them was that they were reputable until they went crazy and started attacking their customers. Then they stole hundreds of domains of mine (and 900,000 other people). Then they kept the renewal fees, locked me out of my account and let the domains expire. To this day, nobody has seen any justice. I'd like to see the owners of RegFly flailed, tied to the back of an old car and driven off a pier into a shark infested ocean.

I agree with Weblord. You have got to be suspcious with a 3.99 domain name.
