Just got an offer for $250 on my VR Marketplace for

VRBareback.com

Fecking thing is though I let it drop last month, my name is still on the who.is, and it's nowhere to be found in my account...
Anyway of getting it back?
:)

Just curious, did you have it listed anywhere else as well? Like SEDO perhaps? Only reason I ask is that there have been a few instances where names which I have listed on Sedo have expired and the new owner (I'm guessing) probably in frustration has sent me an offer for some incredible amount of money so that when I go to transfer, I realize I no longer own it and remove it from my portfolio on Sedo. (Which would then allow the new owner to list it in his/her account)

I have actually used this method myself after acquiring a name that is still listed at Sedo under the previous owner. It works as a good wake up call.

Probably not without paying the redemption fee. Contact your registrar.

Redemption fee?
Can you enlighten me as to what this is?
I had a CCC.com accidentally expire on me last year... caught it about three weeks to a month after expiration and tried to renew it from my account and it wouldn't let me..I contacted the registrar and was told that after expiry it had gone to auction and I was S.O.L. :(

What is this magical redemption fee you speak of?

I suppose it depends on the registrar but GoDaddy sent me the following info when I tried to renew a domain in redemption period:

Our redemption pricing is as follows (strict):

Days Late 1 – 25 is $0

Days Late 26 – 32 is $20

Days Late 33(plus) is $80

Nothing magical, as you know. It's a well known fee a registrant can pay to retain ownership of a domain if it slips into the redemption phase. Hence, "redemption fee." Check with your registrar as to their respective ToS regarding their redemption fee. Below is a link to GD's:

A registrant can renew an expired domain name at no extra cost up to day 18. If they renew an expired domain name anytime between day 19 and day 42, they must also pay an $80.00 redemption fee. The domain name might not be available for renewal after day 42.

What happens after domain names expire?
Once a domain name expires, it goes through many stages before being released to the open market. GoDaddy sends five renewal emails to the GoDaddy account owner prior to the expiration date. Below is a timeline based on .com domain names.

These timelines do not apply to ccTLD domain names.

Days after expiration Action
Day 1 We make the first of three billing attempts to renew the domain name.
Day 5 We make the second billing attempt. If the billing fails on the day of, or auto renew fails, the domain name expires and is immediately set to parking. The domain can be renewed by the registrant at no extra cost.
Day 12 We make the third and final attempt to renew the domain name. The domain name can still be renewable by the registrant at no extra cost.
Day 19 The domain name can be renewed by the registrant for the cost of a one-year renewal plus an $80.00 redemption fee.
Day 26 We add the domain name to an expired domain name auction.
Day 36 The expired domain name auction ends. If there are no backorders and no bidders in the expired domain name auction, we list the domain name in a closeout auction.
Day 41 The closeout auction ends.
Day 43 We assign the domain name to the winner of the expired domain name auction, backorder, or closeout. If there are no bidders, we return the domain name to the registry.

A registrant can renew an expired domain name at no extra cost up to day 18. If they renew an expired domain name anytime between day 19 and day 42, they must also pay an $80.00 redemption fee. The domain name might not be available for renewal after day 42.

dunnu much bout this stuff, but how do the folk who renew their domains after there are bids and winners on them on gd expired auction... as it happened many times to VR domains

do they renew them after day 42? I guess they pay that redemption fee yes? but I thought people said it was "Free" to run that "market test" on their expired domains..as many like to call it.

I alos recently had situation where someone bid on expired gd auction on a domain I had on domain.com.. and it expired.. then it was removed from my domain.com account and transfered to gd .. after expired gd auctin ended.. so say on day 36... thst it was removed from me domain.com acount.

I wonder if that implies I may no longer be able to pay redemption fee at domain.com between now and before it goes back to regpool.. around day 75 past expiry..

I already once paid redemption fee there.. on day 60 or so.. cause I had a sale on that domain.
