Where do you get inspiration when you have invent some new domain? I've just started to buy some domains but someone in the other thread already told me they are a bit crap due to their bad pronunciation... but.. i mean, it's roughly impossible to find clean domain anymore. I've just spent two days squeezing my brain to find some clean and valuable (.com) name. Maybe I ought to have the long-view (?) to search something related to some future "big thing"?

noodles.org was recently at NameJet auction :) This was a not bad one IMO.

As I understand you're talking about buying but not registering domains.
To understand what is good and what is bad you could check for example how many companies are using the keywords from the domain you are looking to purchase. If there are many - domain is good, if no - probably bad.

Maybe I shouldn't but try DomainLoops Pattern Scans :) you can find the best available domain names from whatever category in a minutes :)

I don't buy based on inspiration, I buy based on liquidity and market potential for domains. I only buy pure numerics, which are liquid and are a way of buying into Chinese internet growth. I generally buy .com, but occasionally buy a .net or .org. Before you buy a domain you should have a good idea of whether you can actually resell it. Go to the sales forums here to see thousands of "inspirationally" registered domain names that nobody will buy.

First off go with your gut!! Don't let anyone tell you that they are bad to pronounce.. I've seen domains of that nature do really well in markets in other countries.

Once and a while I'll stumble over a domain that I like and is easy to pronounce and brandable. In my opinion I feel that this is where the market will be heading.

Most of the time though I acquire domains while sorting through dropped and expired lists..

Bannen's List works quite well as well!!
