Hi all, I've recently been getting my UK based Ltd company up and runnning. I've registered the .co.uk, done some prelim work on my site etc. Checked the .com of the same yesterday and yesy it was still free so I put the registration of it down on my list of things to do today (Fri 23rd)

Lo and behold, I go to register it this morning and capitol domains have already got it! They're usaing it to host yet more rubbish links to 'nowhere inparticular land'

Has anybody got any advice, are there any laws (unlikley I know) against this sort of thing.

PLease help this newbie out with your advice and experience.

Cheers

Ed

don't click on the name and it may drop in 5 days. These guys are notorious for this kindof stuff. They have large monitoring systems that check whois searches as well. Same as Domaindoorman / Dotster et al. Also, that ppc service everyone likes Domainsponsor does the same whois monitoring via their Chestertonholdings. Not good!

This happened to me at least twice :td: . I learned my lesson, I don't search anything unless I am ready to buy.

Thanks all for the advice/info. I'll keep my eyes on it (without clicking on it!) Lesson learnt here.
