10,000 seems to high. I would offer 2,000 and pray he takes it, then take the 1,000 if he doesn't. Some say you have little to lose but I'm not sure I agree, it seems to me that you may stand to lose $1000. I guess it all depends what you really feel the domain is worth. I'm not the most experienced at selling domains.
