some domainers like to purchase right away and mull over it for a few days and possibly delete it and get a refund if they change their minds. others like to do a little research first and then open their wallets.

When you find a deal is the right time to buy.

For domains without fees to refund, like us and tv, register any domain you search, and, after the grase period, refund all without traffic
For the others with little fee, I prefer to make a litle research =p

i am a newbie too so take my words on that basis

i had registered a few which i thought were excellent, symbolic of my brainpower....until i brought it up to the forum and it turned out to be just ordinary

so i need to trust someone or something outside of myself...and i read more on this forum and try to digest it...for example, reece here said that estibot is good for estimating 4-character .com only and so i am taking it seriously

Qu: when should you buy a domain?

Ans: when the experienced forumers here said it is good

Brad said it best, you buy when it is a bargain. I usually only buy a domain if I feel I could sell it the same day for more.

I agree with that mentality. I rarely will even consider paying near market value for a domain unless I have a plan.

There are millions of domains out there, I don't want to get involved in a bidding war and buy something that I will regret later.
