Just wondering what to see in domains when registering a new domain name or buying a domain name ?

I think but is it ?

Is it page rank of google ?
Is it number of searches done on google ? How you can find number of searches ?
Is it word ?

or

Is it using a brand name with something else ?

Let me know, ThankS!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I for one would go with:
1. A name that makes sense, not madeup words
2. Short, easy to brand, easy to pronounce, easy to spell
3. A domain that has a potential (whether can be instantly sold, or relates to a developing trend; like tech etc.)

Good PageRank isn't that relative unless you plan to sell PR domains for SEO purpose. But normally if you are referring to end user domains, proper words do play a significant role.

thanks webinvestments for answering.

i am trying to sell a domain which i own

its called

gyaro.com

now gyaro means a city name and anime cartoon character name and it is listed on google satellite maps i am trying to sell it for $50 and nobody is thinking the name has worth what can be the problem ?

Like my domain name is popular specially to kids who watches cartoon and to african people who lives in city gyaro.

So what can be the reason nobody is willing to pay even $50.

I wouldn't blame luck my friend. Also I am fairly new to the domain game myself but I will share my learning and experience as much as I can to help and guide you.

Do tell me, what have you done so far in terms of ensuring sales? Outreach, social media, listing on domain marketplaces etc.?

As the domain sounds brandable, have you tried submitting it to brandable domain marketplaces like BrandBucket, Namerific, BrandDo?

i just added on ebay first by saying i will sell this domain for thousands of dollars because its a city domain name and listed on sedo and flippa free but i didnt get any offers.

its a brand name but i needed money so i even took appraisal from appraisals forum from here but i got value of xx

i provided all information and even google satellite maps showing how nice my domain is but nobody evaluated it.

i also told gyaro is anime cartoon character which means its very famous to children specially on television and i am ready to sell it for $100 but nobody move forward to buy it.

then finally i said i will sell this brandable domain for $50 because i needed money to invest on my project phpsunchat as features needed to be added there but nobody came in front instead i saw people buying names which are word and not even popular to childrens and even it is not a city name, just some words made of combination and people buying them for $500 and above. I was shocked and i am shocked still.

can you advice me what i did wrong that is not selling my brandable domain for even $50.

i dont have even $1 to list on brandbucket or any other websites.

Thanks for answering.

Never give up hope my friend. Domaining is hard and I am assuming that you are new to the game. It requires a lot of hard work, research, and patience. So don't give up just yet.

I would suggest you submit your domain to brandable domain marketplaces. And if the domain gets approved by either of these sites, you can re-list the domain here with the title, "Brandable Site Name - Approved Domain for sale".

There are members here who sell their Brand Bucket approved domains for little buck.

In addition to that, before you submit to brandable sites, I would suggest you do email outreach to potential buyers and tell them that your domain is for sale.

Search your domain (without .com) in Google, and see what results you get. Use this command in Google search box to see who are using your domain name in their URLs: allinurl:gyaro

Do email outreach as it has more potential and hopefully you can get more than $100 for your domain.

Wish you all the best.

thanks once again webinvestments, brandbucket ask for money to list domain and i dont have money.

if you can sell this domain for $70 i will offer you $20 and keep $50 as i need $50 urgently to invest in my project.

i have renewed until next year of december so its like 1 year of renewal is already paid so i will get $40 only.

if anybody wants to invest in popular name please let me know as gyaro is famous as cartoon character and seen on television you can sell it to people for atleast $100 i am sure.

also webinvestments can you tell me some techniques to evaluate domains like i heard there are websites who offers free services to evaulate domain by seeing number of searches etc...

can you suggest some, also are there any other domaining experts here who is willing to answer my question, it will help newbies who is new in domaining.

ThankS!

As others have said, don't give up. I can't tell you how many times I received an offer out of the blue for a domain I thought was relatively low value. But as anyone will tell you, the ultimate value of a domain is what someone is willing to pay.

If I can offer my 2 cents on this domain -

1) While it is a city name, the city is in Nigeria, which does not exactly have a sterlinh=g reputation when it comes to things internet
2) It is an anime character name, so there may be trademark/legal implications

Hang in there, you never know

SupNames thanks for joining, but you know since its a anime character name its popular to kids and those who watch cartoons on television and want to own popular things to get prestige, you are getting my point.

Just to show off the world what i own.

So even just to show the world what they own, dont you feel $50 is nothing (-$10 for me for 1 year renewal)

What happens when it comes to prestige owning a popular name just to show off the world or people like people buys animals or birds which are famous and similar to others.

Brandbucket asks for money for listing the domain, after it gets approved by them.

What I suggested is that you get your domain reviewed by them, if it gets approved, then you may have something good going.

Also, do email outreach like I mentioned above. It looks like you really need to sell this domain, so again I would suggest you to do the email outreach for results.

Regarding domain valuation, do not trust the numbers of any sites out there, like estibot and etc. They are just bots/softwares and like @SupNames have said, the domain is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it.

Good luck and happy domaining.

its because the name is not that great,
it does not flow that good to make it a good brandable GYRO flows well GYRA flows well the a between the y and the next letter makes it confusing imo

i like gyrax.com better then i like gyaro.com

As I am a beginner in domaining, one of the first things I've learned so far is don't fall in love in your domain name. Even if you're 100% sure that it's great and has a lot of potential, domain market is like any market - it has its own demand and supply rules.

In the beginning of domaining it's just a rule of thumb - you buy domain name without much investigating, you list for sell for (sometimes) ridiculous money and do not understand why there aren't any offers.

If you want to be in the game, just move on, accumulate some money, analyze the market and try to grab domain which you think will make some profit (even if small, it is still a sign that you choice created some kind of demand). You can make a landing page on gyaro.com with your offer, and try to reach end users from time to time.

But before anything, you should really check if there are no copyright infringement with this site, cartoons are trademarks and so are they characters.

you are right my freind olympia.com has a value of 148000$ in estibot

unfortunately you have entered a hard job that needs a lot of patients to sell your domains... you may receive the offer after month maybe after year and maybe now ...i see high premium single word domains are still in the selling list in sedo and the other sites...

i wish you the best luck..

@Reu Torah don't take this as a rude comment (I'm trying to protect you) but you are trying to sell this domain here, and this is against NamePros ToS.
You should start an auction in the proper section.

no mike y its been long here now on namepros i tried to sold my domain in auction but i didn't get BIN price as it is brandable name and i am newbie in domaining.

My post looks like i am trying to sell my domain ? yes i am trying to sell my domain in auction page only. I am asking to experts to teach me how to sell and tell me what i dont know about domaining because i am newbie in domaining, i am already banned in live chat because i kept posting my auction page there and even i thank them for banning me because i was shocked after having a brandable name and it could not sell for $50 so i was completely shocked to see the results.

I started this thread to learn what to see in domain before buying or registering because i registered domain gyaro.com by not looking a name or searches i wanted something new in name which i want to own so i can keep it for my video chat software and i purchased it. So just trying to learn from experienced experts here who has sold domains. I never sold any domains until now.

if you want to know how to sell a domain you first have to learn how to buy a domain... i will tell you what i learned in domains and i hope my poor little information will help you as i new here as you know

choose the strong commercial words

look at the search average per month i use sites like epik.com

if your domain has good clear strong words and high search
average then you have a good domain and it will be sold for sure

and take my advice get away from brandable domains especially if english isnt your native language...good luck
