Vida.com and now lets.com is also back in auction. I assume the winning bidders could not pay up. (This link sure is interesting )

Vida.com originally went for $70,000 and Lets.com originally went for $31,500. Now they are both back in auction. But instead of starting a new auction, the new high bidders are the users who bid last month.

Are these people obligated to buy the domain? After all, their bids were placed weeks ago and interest in the domain and financial situation could change from that time out.

Imagine if you placed a losing $30,000 bid on a domain. You later find a better domain the the price. One month later, you find that you have to pay for an old bid.

Also do the users who failed to pay have their account suspended indefinitely or temporarily?

From my understanding, each bidder get's a "second chance". You are allowed one NPB and then you are gone.

As for the auction restarting and being at the high bidder of the old auction just doesn't seem right. The auction should Restart at the min bid IMO, so NJ doesn't run into another NPB situation.

That sounds really clumsy on NJ's part. :-/ They should start with the min bid again.

Ive had issues with this as well. NameJet believes the next highest bidder is where the auciton should continue. This has lead to other Non-Paying bidders. I have several times requested to be removed from re-auctions that I no longer had an interest in. Its a hastle, but you cant control how everyone does business.

Happened with Snapnames too yeah?
I remembered once I was paying for a domain which I lost to another high bidder.

An auction is an auction, and should be an auction! These types of manipulation to rules and dodgy end users not paying just makes me highly suspicious of the whole process.

Im still not convinced many of the high prices we see at some auctions are genuine, i know it's a big call, but i think the evidence again and again backs this up for me to be sceptical.

Gdaddy even had an employee buying domains for himself in the aftermarket not long ago, im just not convinced.

i have just had this problem myself with namejet where I was the second highest bidder, they started the auction where me and the highest bidder started biddinging against each other, and on top of that included a proxy bid within $100 of previous winning bid?

Its a week since the last bidder did not pay, I feel this is a long time to just start restarting auctions.

I have contacted them about this and asked to be removed from the bidding, has anyone else had any luck being removed from bidding?

thanks
