I have always loved and supported and fought for Godaddy.

However, they are falling off real fast. A few weeks ago, I made some small sales here on NP and I wasn't able to push the names to the new owner. Actually i was able to push the names, but According to Godaddy.. customers weren't able to accept or receive the names. I thought that was just for that week.

Today I was told by a buyer that they still didn't receive their name. I resent the email and re did the process and they keep getting this invalid message when they try to accept name. I even get that similar message sometimes when i follow through their email to approve a contact change.

How can i do business successfully if a client has to go through this??????

Also, when i change the nameservers or forwarding for a couple names at once(bulk), they nameservers end up changing for every single name in my portfolio and screws up my websites and others. smh

And this is with their new domain managment interface. It is teribble...

To safely update one name, i don't even select it and choose from the menu at the top to forward. That sometimes give problems and it sometimes caused all the names to be forwarded even though i only selected one name.

I literally have to click on the name and then from that page, click DNS, then to safely update a domain name.

What other domain name registrars do you recommend?
I love Godaddy and trust them, but i expect more from them when it comes to their main product.

I really hope they are not becoming like McDonalds: poor food but they survive because of their branding and marketing.

Yes it is bad. The old retired GoDaddy Domain Manager also had issues but overall was better with fewer bugs. The new one they rolled out this week has a number of serious and strange type of bugs not the least of which is the connection going down a lot (forcing a new login) even if using different browsers (as usual tech support blames it on the browser). '

Other problems like unlock/lock, remove or change domain profiles, DNS and auth codes etc they say will take several days to fix or offer no date for fixing saying it will elevate to upper level technicians for more study and fixing which can take a long time.

I also notice the normally patient and polite account execs are no longer like that and lately are impatient and even sarcastic over past few days, possibly because they are as mad about the new release as the users are. It is incredible it would be released and old one shut down without good and valid testing being done.

I was thinking the same, that the old domain manager was much better. All they needed to do was make the layout like the new version and make organizing domains in folders easier, so you can make changes to batches of domains without searching through your whole portfolio to select names over and over.

It's total madness, that they didn't test this... and then at the height of their dysfunction they choose to remove the older interface?

I can't defend Godaddy anymore man... I just hope they see that their business will crash if this isn't fixed immediately. because if people can send or receive domains or forward easily and do other basic things, then they will have problems. Pushing a domain is one of the simplest things you can do and they can't even get that right.

Really! I use Firefox, recent version. Instead of showing 200 rows of domains like before there are only the first four rows visible. Godaddy service say they´ve never seen that before.
So if I want to make bulk updates I have to search manually for every name and check it instead of scrolling through the longer list. I can change Nameservers in bulk then e.g., but not Auto-Renew settings as my bulk order is only accepted for the last chosen name.

Godaddy seems to be falling apart, CEO quit on Thursday, the new domain interface suffers from all types of issues which seems to be causing issues on Afternic as well necessitating playing a game of whack-a-mole as any change on GD knocks the name off of Afternics premium promotions. I have spent two weeks fighting customer service and just quit trying to sell on Afternik. I want to safely move all my sh*t to somewhere else, any suggestions?

Godaddy is the necessary evil. their employees are so amazing that they are obviously being held captive to work there. the platform is running on a coding abacus, and powered by coal mining technology.

What i never will never forgive is their use of such a faulty availability engine. but i already cried me a river lol ,
so ill just live to warn others. Only use what you must, while ALWAYS trying to find the smoother service FAR AWAY FROM THEM : )

I would never hold valuable domains at GoDaddy or NetworkSolutions.
It`s just too risky in all aspects.

Dynadot is nice and smooth so far for me and many. and DAN.com to List and sell.

also if you want to make some great money, short GD stock. or join the class action lawsuit.

I recommend Dynadot. It is a pleasure using their interface. I always transfer names away from GoDaddy as soon as possible.

Afternic has been terrible for years. I thought GoDaddy was going to pull them up, but it seems the opposite has happened...

Godaddy CEO was there for just a year before leaving for "health" reasons - maybe bug bites kept him awake at night.

So domains are actually very important to GD's bottom line.

I can certainly recommend Namesilo, and Dan.com say they are becoming a registrar. Not sure if you can use Cloudflare for your domains if not using Cloudflare, but the price is as low as it can get.

I am transfering my domains out. I logged in to my account but i was unable to see my domains and kept getting blank screen.

Too many bugs in their new interface.

I will be moving my 400 domains out on my day off.

Dynadot is the best. Super fast push and transfer. One of the most competitive renewal fees and transfer fees. Very professional and smart customer supports. Their app is great that I can do everything with it. They are actually IT guys not call center personnels. They know their stuffs.

Contact Support/Rob at Epik.com for bulk pricing (that will include free privacy and a superior interface) or go to his page here and send him a direct message.

Epik is way better and you don't have to list or escrow anywhere else. All inclusive. Saves huge amount of time. Plus Rob is likely the most engaged CEO in the history of domainers.

GD has too many trackers and cookies. It therefore may not work as expected if some sort of privacy extensions or adblockers are installed. For a long time, I use a separate browser (without any adblockers or extensions) for such websites (also for Uniregistry, they are similar in this aspect) - default installation, which is not secure of course (no adblock, everything is allowed etc). After the session, I simply delete the whole "user profile" in appropriate folder so it does not save anything (all the tracking stuff). Even though I do not like the new interface, with this method so far I was always able to login - view all domains - and perform basic domain management tasks.

Maybe a legacy of their website being a bloated upsell freakshow in the days of Rob Parsons. But they used to have really good support.

Anyone thinking of moving to Epik may want to get a bit more info before deciding, for example here:

Good point. In that thread you will find Rob stands up for free speech and transparency. It will also demonstrate how he is articulate and intelligent in dealing with unfounded personal attacks that are filled with rhetoric. Through out it all he is still courteous and professional.

wow, Ive had nothing but a good experience with godaddy. That's weird to hear so many people turning on a trusted registrar after all these years of their service for us domainers. Makes you wonder what we are really waiting for. hmmm.
