What's with Snapnames drop dates ?

Seems like something has changed recently, as far as I can tell you now need to backorder a name the day before it drops....and then everyone can see (for 24hrs) how many people have placed a backorder on it :td:

I'm not sure if this is with all of them or just certain registrars, anyone know more ?

there are some private portfolios that are in the queue now. they look like regular drop's but the minimum bid may be a fixed amount & if there are other bidders - your bid to join will need to be higher than the highest bid. we noticed this about the time or shortly after namejet took over the priority names..

everyone can see your bid, but I don't think it is limited to the "day before".
