I find myself sitting on a couple of hundred valuable mainly .com domain names. At the moment I am considering offloading many of them.

Valuable because in the past I have had multi - nationals chasing me for some of them. And we are talking xx,xxx for one name.

This is a market that I find in many ways new to me. What would be the best way for me to go about this? And would anyone be interested in helping me to market some of these names?

Thanks in advance

Robian, try listing at sedo and afternic, you dont need to waste cash on other people to market the domain.

If they are really top names, Sedo and Afternic should get you some reasonable responses to start.

If they are premo names all you need to do is slap a for sale page up and somebody will contact you. Sedo & Afternic help also.

OK we all know what counts as a valuable domain name. I lose count of the number of times and the numerous sites shouting about loans.com, business.com and accommodation.com.

Basically it is single words that are focused and in a high value area that get the bucks. Everything else is running a poor second. Well, almost everything.

Has anyone ever stopped to thing how advertisers advertise web sites, holidays, cars, property, drinks etc. In fact almost everything.

There is one word and only one word in the English language that is universally used. Its not "the" or "that" or anything else but the word "get".

Think about it how many times have you seen advertised in the paper the term "get accommodation" followed by a web address you will never remember in a million years.

Why get?

It is positive, short and easy to remember. In fact possibly the only thing people can remember.

So if you want to get accommodation then getaccommodation.com. And getbestbuys.com, getlatedeals.com, getsupermodels.com and getfreebanking.com are the best names you could ever get.

These names are possibly the only ones where adding a name in front (get) does not detract from the domain.

This has recently been picked up by a number of the major companies. "Get" is now the most used extension for many, many large corporations.

At the moment I find I am sitting on about 100 of the most memeroble names on the planet. (I've tested these and found people have an amazing ability to recall these names).

Due to a change in my planning I am now looking at the possibility of shifting many of them.

I would be interested to here what others think.

( Before anyone rushes out and starts buying up "get" names be careful. I think only the .com names have real value and I and other people hold intelectual property rights over many of the names).

The sites I've listed are a few of mine. But if you just do a search on www.google.com for "get" or "get web sites" etc you will find them by the bucket load.

But don't just take my word for it. Give a list of names including some "get"ones to anyone and ask them to look at them. Check what names people remember. By my research the "get" ones will beat anything else by a mile.

And the big question

What value would you put on these names?

I tried "get advertising", but I didn't find one of your domains.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear if other people thing your prefix is a good idea.

I've just found a few "get" names advertised on a site. See the link.

http://www.domainsystems.com/featureauctions/getsportsnamesfa.htm

Even at the 75% off the figures seem high. To my mind it should be about 90% off.

I find myself sitting on 100+ of these names. Are they worth anything like these figures (at 90% of) or is it just pie in the sky. If it is I could be sitting on x,xxx, xxx.

If anyone thinks they can help me get this (or anything like it)then I will take up Anthony's suggestion and give them a share in what is made.
