It depends on the amount. $$$$ is more exciting than $$$.

I do not have much feelings about it..it is just a transaction - you give something, they give something :)

It feels reassuring, knowing that you're doing it right. But more than anything else, it opens your mind to the possibilities the industry has to offer. It's also a means of motivation to continue in the trade.

To anyone who hasn't yet sold a domain name after twelve months of purchasing their first, I'd suggest that you hand-register a few at $1.00 / $2.00 and sell as low as you can - just for motivation.

Holding long-term should be for the really nice gems, the rest should be flipped asap in order to grow capital to reinvest in the gems.

Are your domain names hand registered or do they have history?

Feels good, unless it is in the x,xxx range and above, then it feels like a little piece of heaven for about 24 - 48hours :)

It can be frustrating when you have those stretches with only lowball offers, many offer page views but no sales. The tendency is to cut prices. Then when you make a sale but you feel like you sold it too cheap.

While I will keep my best .net and .tv domains, there are far more offer page views, inquiries and sales on .com domains than other extensions. So the portfolio has to adjust accordingly.

It's like wiggling your toes in thick, soft grass while sipping on a frosty frozen Margarita and having your head gently massaged all while watching a beautiful sunset.

Hope you get a chance to experience the feeling soon!

    Good Luck

It makes you see everything in a bright light and how great domaining is and all :xf.cool:

Then, after a week with no sales or inquiries you start wondering if domaining is dead :xf.frown:

It was confusing and exciting as I did not know how to transfer it? Sold it here and the member was in the same country so he rang me and talked me through it, money in the bank was the most exciting part!!

that's the perfect sale in as much as the buyer wants the name but also realises that the seller is a newbie etc and hasn't transferred a name etc with the buyer using their experience to make sure the transaction goes through smoothly for both parties especially the buyer i'd have thought

Try it, you'll like it :-D

Follow advice from @Aspiring Billionaire and try selling a lower cost domain, build from there.

It's always exciting when you make that first sale. I was when I sold my first domain for $250.00 after buying it for $7.00 then another feeling after selling a second name in one hour after hand regging for $100.00 after buying it for $7.00 years agoooo.

Being a rather passive seller by choice, inbound offers / sales instead of aggressive outbound efforts, each sale is a vindication of my domain name choices, domain name prices and, sales approach.

    OR

I think of 'em, buy 'em, price 'em, list 'em and feel great when someone finds and buys 'em!
