A NLL.com domain gone for $1,103 today (May/13/07 06:09 AM EST) at sedo.com. I can remember, on October 2005 a member at DF posted a NLL.com for sale and he was mentioned as “minimum offer: $20” but he did not got any offer for that even at least $20. I’m surprising how fast growing the 3character .com value, within this 18 months period. Now, it has reached $x,xxx.

What will be the price range for 3character .com in 2010?

Post your opinions here.
Thanks

im guessing your talking about 7yo.com

i think that one was an exception to the norm, but they have definitely grown in value over the last 18months just not as dramatically as that small sample (of 2!) suggests

Most of the LLL or NLL or the other combinations gained their value by their uniqueness and limited availability and not for their commercial value that could have if they were developed (example type in traffic ..) so even i expect the price to raise there will be always exceptions with high figures and the majority with normal figures. Don't forget an important factor end-users. High figure sales are not from domainers only

Ditto...the vast majority of 3 char .com are sold from one domainer to another, over and over again, It is more of a collectable imo, i had bought several, i sold them off once i got tired of them, they are rare and collectable, but as far as an average end-user buying one, probably not, for what use? if it's a LLN.com, you have an acronym with a nuber at the end, i think they will continue to rise in price, but as far as end-user sales, i doubt to many at all...i can't really predict a price range they may bring in 2010...it depends if domainers still feel a need for them in thier portfolio imo.

I agree with all of your opinions but, I belive it has been increased at least 4 time their value between the 18 months for NLL.com and LLN.com. Because, even he (as I said) posted a crapy NLL.com domain, no one interested to make an offer at least $20 but, today can we purchase even a crapy NLL.com or LLN.com for $80.

So, I believe NLL.com and LLN.com has been increased their value minimum 4 times withing the past 18 months.

The known URL : http://3character.com/priceguide.html is a good reference
However because someone didn't see or noticed or maybe even didn't like the combination doesn't make it wothless. The major problem with domains is :

1. People who do have money don't understand their value
2. People who understand their value don't have money
Your job is to find the one (or persuade) in the middle of these two categories

Domainers is not the target of our goal
We will end like collectors that shuffle their baseball cards

lol could not have been put in better words..
i myself have known people who have money and they buy crap names for much higher simply because they still do not know what real quality means. they think that the person offering them a domain who gives 20% discount is better then a person who lists his prices as fixed
