I need some help.

I am advertising www.pcwebtalk.com as i noramlly do, and the amount of traffic has decreased so much, it is very annoying. I had 2030 uniques last month and less than 500 so far this month. I am pushing and pushing for more uniques and visitors, but i am finding it hard to keep increasing the traffic monthly. Any suggestions to inprove the traffic?

Hey Robert,

It looks cool... I've noticed that traffic on sites like yours and mine decrease dramatically in December/January months, just because of travel, school exams, etc.

Btw...

You can order them via CD, or if you have no access to a computer, you get a paper version.

Lol, dunno if you intended this or not... but... how else would they be viewing your site? :D

Take out the ads. In my opinion ads can kill any website trying to get off the ground.

The ads are my money making, i cannot remove them that easy. I need to make something when it is getting off the ground.

Seasonal traffic fluctuations could be to blame. Personally they don't affect any of my sites much, but some people seem to experience big peaks and troughs. It's also possible that was was a “new thing”, or new in the places it was being advertised, last month and most of your audience has already seen it. Try advertising in new places if that's the case.

The ads aren't making you enough to keep them on there. Wait till you get more traffic then put them on. Right now you gotta do what ever ya can to promote your site and get it off the ground.

My main site got hit earlier in the month after a big december season, due to some of the holiday artwork, but we are picking back up again back to normal. A lot of people have lots of work to catch up on after the holiday and don't have as much time to surf as they do once they get settled in. Another thing is to see if perhaps a certain link or google ranking got affected, as that can bring down traffic as well.

robertall, I think you need to put some work into getting the visitor's attention. I spent a few seconds on your site and I coulnt figure out what's it about (I guess I'm a typical visitor). Put some pictures up on the home page, that will explain what your site is about in an instant without having people read stuff.

Also, I usually have a large percentage of my site traffic returning visitors looking for something new I guess. So, maybe your traffic is a "one-time" visitor, so you should think of ways how to keep them comming back.

Other than that, your site look pretty professional and even 500 uniques per month sounds real nice for a site with only 69 incomming links.

Good luck with your site!

take some time and make a list of 10 things you can do to keep visitors at your site longer and 5 things to keep them coming back, then do them.

Also primacomputer said, Seasonal traffic fluctuations might have something to do with it also maybe and search engine rankings might have dropped if the website isn't deamed 'fresh' anymore. really could be 100's of factors.

Well, you got to make few changes. I only made quick glance though.

Main page: You got too many tabs. The design you got from oswd.org is more like for information site than what you are using for. More over, the original design is not meant to carry ads thats why the site looks a bit odd to me.

Also that design is known to carry no images, but in general any site needs some images and some more color.

Just because yours is free does not make it the best as your caption says.

On the forum, may be you should make your header more interesting.

Note that this is from quick glance, hope it helps.
