Buy a voting majority of GDDY shares and push through a hostile takeover of one of these PC names:
    Ball Corp
    Broadcom
    In-N-Out
Sell the old biz minus their name and don’t forget new business cards and bumper stickers. Good luck!

GoDaddy claims that it wants to empower everyone, but the GoDaddy name does not align with that goal because although there are those who think that it is a perfectly fine name, but it might give the wrong impression to a large segment of the population that might consider it as not being politically correct, as far as who falls on each side there are people of all gender, race, and status that might be for or against it same as when they removed the Confederate statues from public places as I refered to in my original post.

As I said I like to get back to the original topic of this thread.

If anyone has any positive and constructive suggestions as to what a suitable name would be for GoDaddy to switch to that would be politically correct and inclusive of all people when it comes to this new era of empowerment then they are welcomed to post it here.

So lets keep the thread on Topic.

As mentioned in the Rules, unprofessional and disrespectful comments and suggestions are not allowed nor are those who want to derail this thread by taking it off topic.

It seems like this is the best I'm going to get from you. It's not really enough to convince anyone here, I'm sure. I think I'm done.

GoDaddy does not mean Go Discrimination. You are really pushing your extreme irrational agenda by even saying that and its uncalled for. You seem obsessed with the word empowered. GoDaddy exists to make money not empower anybody. You empower yourself.

You start to trample on other people’s rights to call their website/business whatever the hell they want because in your unreasonableness you find it offensive. 🙄

As many have said— oldtimer is offensive—- so change it. You weren’t willing to do that even though it is clearly ageist so please let GoDaddy call themselves whatever they want.

There is a point where supposed political correctness goes off the deep end and this thread is clearly an example of that nonsense.

You keep going on about "Daddy" while "Go" is extremely offensive towards people who have no legs.

Good point, but we are talking about providing empowerment that creates equal opportunity for all people regardless of race, gender, or disability, as the mater of fact in this digital age it is the domain and website that can give those with disabilities the power to express themselves and be on equal terms with everyone else as far as getting a chance to flourish in this new era and be able to Go online.

May I suggest you contact GoDaddy and voice Your Opinion to them directly and keep everyone here informed on their response . Cheers.

Godaddy has already indicated that empowerment is their top priority going forward and I am sure that their CEO is already aware of the fact that the name that got them started originally is not aligned with the image that they want to project in this new era.

Totally agree. In fact, I think the GoDaddy name sounds like something that can be used in the adult industry

    Your opinion is much appreciated,

it's just bad form for many different reasons for a global company that wants to empower everyone through domains and websites to have such a name.

No that is because you both are twisting things.
A little girl can say "go daddy" while playing baseball.

    So cute.

So many replies and one person agreed with you (sorta). Others said they didn’t like the name but not for the reasons you stated.

I find it intriguing that a discussion is opened and you ignore the fact that 90% of replies don’t agree with your opinion. Apparently only your opinion matters in regard to this topic.

Everyone’s time could be better spent working on their own portfolio than debating a huge entities long held universally known name.

    Thank You!! Exactly

I’ve been ignored from my very first comment on page 2 by the OP. This person only wants to chat with those that agree with their warped view

They hate when you make points that are hard to argue...

People like him or her don’t do well with debates or confrontation, they simple “re-reroute” their “GPS” so to speak.

As I pointed out several double standards, they have noooo problem using that Apple SmartPhone.......basically inshort, just wants to complain about somthing to feel victimized, while still using things in ever day life that are built and produced off the misfortunes of others, the “EMPOWERMENT”- of large companies & corporations.

    No ones buying it

This End of an era movement rubish is just another forceful push of one persons views and beliefs down another’s throat forcibly. You’re not allowed to “disagree” or they just ignore you all together.

As for the remark of the member that related GoDaddy to a Adult site...I’m not going to say you’re wrong or right...that depends on what you build around the “Brand”

I’m just going to say your the First person that went there...Hence the saying “get your mind out the gutter”. That just shows where your minds at or goes.

As I said along this is more about ones Mindset then the name.

    Questions What’s is

APPLE.com and how many 🍎 🍎 Do you order from them?

(& not WholeFoods which they bought )

How about Amazon.com do think or picture the jungle? Or Amazonia Women ?....nope I BET you picture a company and box at your doorstep.

The ones that have an issues with GoDaddy is because in your mind you’ve got this thing for whatever reason deciding to associate and attach it to your own distorted negative narrative.

So should I be ridiculed or punished for having a different opinion than most of the people who have participated here, I have already indicated that I respect all professional, constructive, and respectful opinions here even if they express opposing views than me and I expect the same in return. The original topic of this thread was to suggest perhaps a better and more suitable name for Godaddy that would be more fitting to this new era of equal opportunity and respect for all people, now if no one had replied with a suggestion this thread would have just disappeared in the background, but people decided to start protecting the status quo by defending an outdated name (in my opinion) and continued to take the thread off topic by becoming disrespectful and making personal attacks which I am thankful to the Mods for cleaning up a lot of the improper comments.

So you are right, people have wasted their time arguing with me over so many pages now, but in reality all they had to do was to not submit a name suggestion and this thread would have not become so long.

I know what's right or wrong as far as being politically correct, so if 90 percent of the people here want to protect the GoDaddy's name which I find to be not politically correct and outdated that is not going to make me change my mind about this situation. The best thing was for those who believe that Godaddy is the perfect name to just ignore this thread and not to summit a new name suggestion and this thread would have died quickly, but instead some people chose to engage in long arguments and some although suggested a few names, but they were meant to make fun of this thread and take it off topic. There were only a few people who did what the thread had asked for by making a professional, constructive, and respectful suggestion as for Godaddy to shorten its name to Go, which for the sake of those people and me we need to have a professional and constructive, and positive atmosphere here at NamePros that allows members to contribute to a thread without being attacked, disrespected, or retaliated against.

I am not going to waste any more time arguing here as I have already made my position clear about what I consider to be wrong with the GoDaddy name so at this point I like for everyone to either suggest a new name that they believe will genuinely improve the situation for GoDaddy as far as pursuing their goal of empowering the masses through owning domains and websites and also being able to fit better to this new era of politically correctness or people can just choose to ignore this thread, but they can't make personal attacks or submit names with the intension of making fun of or ridiculing me or Godaddy (or any other person or company).

So stay on topic and do as the thread has asked for or just ignore it, but either way everyone is required to be professional, constructive, and respectful for the sake of those who want to do something good here.

    IMO

Has anyone of significant respected stature voiced they have a problem with the Go Daddy name? This is the first time I've heard of this, and this is where I adhere to the strategy, "If it aint broke, don't fix it":xf.wink:

    @oldtimer

Look you say the name helps some while it hurts and leave out some while not helping to empowering the masses right?

Well when you said Go+Online is OKAY...

If we take your logic, that makes your stance subjectively open to the fact:

GoOnline would now leave out those whom don't have access to the "online" world, those whom can't afford it, those feel affected by the "need" to be online, or what about the Mom and POP Brick and Mortar stores that now are " Offended" by your "GoOnline" you are now affecting them and their Business, what if they feel threaten that you are pushing others to "buy" "online" and not shop at there stores.

See where this is going?....Someone could make the same argument on that name in a the same manner in-which you are doing here.

Also your "feeling" of being attacked and lack of handling sarcasm, and criticism is vindictive of my comments or opinions in responding to you.

The FACT you take such emotional offense to debates and as you take to the Name Godaddy itself .....Is exactly why this thread is the way it is. You are a very sensitive person apparently, and I don't mean that as an attack but as a observation.

You allow to much to effect you, like this Name and Our opinions.

Nah you may do that yourself if you like......you've wasted enough of my time, it took 6 pages for you to actually, respond to me like a grown adult. I'll pass thx.

My memory my be off, maybe someone suggested it either way You AGREED it was Good name just did now here in your response to me, and I just told you if we took your stance on that name the way you do godaddy, why we could then argue it's also bad.

I'll leave you to you ways now.

This is ridiculous. Anyone that asks what name Godaddy should switch to has no clue about brand equity.

You can ask 100 people on the street and probably 90% would know the name. Brands don't have to be in a positive light they just have to be in the light.

If you want to suggest a new name it should be one that you believe will genuinely improve the situation for GoDaddy as far as pursuing their goal of empowering the masses through owning domains and websites and also being able to fit better to this new era of politically correctness with the emphasis on equal opportunity and respect for all people.

The only reason to change the name would maybe be to widen their customer base.
I know quite a number of non-domainers who refused to register a domain because of their name. I think because of how they portrayed sex and women to market themselves in the early days.

    Re-branding is tough though.

But if they are making alot of profit..they might not need to. I mean they could just start a whole other domain brand on the side. Didn't they buy Uniregistry?
