Hello,
I am just having problem with payment with one payment servise and thinking about change.

What can you recommend?
It depends....
  • An escrow service protects both, the buyer and seller better in larger deals with more at stake.
  • Paypal seems to work fine for smaller transaction, but lacks the protections of escrow
  • Crypto is used as well, but there's a lot of push-back due to reported crypto scams, so it could be a deal breaker for some buyers if that's the only method offered.
  • Buyers and sellers may also be in different regions of the world, where some payment types are not accessible, so an alternative method has to be agreed on between the two doing business.
Many platforms offer various payment options to cater to different payment requirements in different regions. It's normally the seller that chooses what payment type they are comfortable with and the buyer has to use it or they can not buy the domain.

My suggestion would be to offer a few different payment methods, so a buyer has more options to choose from that might work better for them.

Problem is that I have serious issue with paypal and I couldnt recommend that payment service at all.

I just lost a thousand credits.

Used direct bank transfer as usual, but this time transaction is lost.

So paypal feels now more like a scam to me.

Helpdesk feels like AI with general answers, "wait more days", maybe wait years to transaction appear.

Is there any good alternative to paypal?

I don't recall any serious issues with PayPal for me in over 20+ years. So, i'm unable to relate as to why you can't use them anymore.

PayPal and Escrow.com are two of the most popular go-to's for domain resellers. However, there are platforms that offer their own in-house escrow type services that are popular as well, such as but not limited to SEDO, Afternic, ATOM, Flippa, NameCheap, etc...

Then there's some of the less popular, but still used: Wise, Payoneer, Crypto, AirWallex, AliPay, UnionPay, UPI, SEPA, ACH, Skrill, etc...

Not sure why you mentioned HelpDesk, as that's not really a payment processor.

It really boils down to where the buyer and seller are located, as to what payment type(s) they can both use in their region. Generally (As I mentioned prior) the seller picks the payment method and the buyer can either use it or they don't place a bid or offer. A buyer can always reach out to a seller to suggest or request a specific payment type, but it's up to the seller to agree to it or not.

Yes, I havent issues for years also. But how would you feel if you cant do nothing and losing money for that you could buy new phone.

Also visit some redit threads that show that paypal decline.

I read with interest the comments here, because I intend to (very soon) "sell" by leasing out some of my .com domains.
My idea was to use PayPal. I appreciate if any of you would give me advice, i.e. what to do, AND what NOT to do.

If I read it correct. For large amounts Escrow. For small amount Paypal.
But anyone here may provide some details (laws for transactions).

Well, it is actually fairly small monthly amounts. The sites that I intend to "sell or lease out" are mainly "Chat .com sites".
I do not have time myself to take care of a "Chat .com" site, so I imagined that it would be a good idea to lease it out to someone who has the time for "chatting" but not enough cash for buying the site in one payment.

Hi, my preference would be:

Escrow for larger private deals.
PayPal or card for smaller/simple payments.
Bank transfer or account balance for larger portfolio or reseller-style operations.
Crypto only as an extra option, not the only option.
