I recive an Email from Mr. Stephen Shapiro, MCSD (Microsoft Certified System Developer) President BON (Back Office Network) Solutions.
I am not sure if this Email is something serious! What do you think?

His Email:

Hello,

I saw your domain was listed for sale. Are you still interested in selling?.

Please email me your desired price. Don't ask to make an offer. Just email the desired price.

By the way, did you receive offers from other buyers?

I run a software development company. We develop ERP systems and databases in Delphi and MS SQL for several local companies. Buying and selling domain names is not my main business. Just another way to invest money and make additional income.

Best regards,

Stephen Shapiro, MCSD (Microsoft Certified System Developer) President BON (Back Office Network) Solutions

My Answer:

Hello Steven,

I am still interested in selling teamnorthamerica.com. My desired price for this name is $3000, but I am willing to discuss the price.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Doru Tarita

His Answer:

3,000 USD. Ok.

Do you sell a developed site or domain only? I prefer domain names.

Do you have an independent valuation from industry experts (appraisal)? I need an appraisal certificate for domain priced in your range. I consider your name as an investment. In other words I'm going to sell your name later and make a profit. If I overpay I won't be able to make a profit in the future. It's very important for you and me to know the current market value of your domain.

Of course, we must be sure that you are engaging a reputable appraisal company. I heard many appraisal companies often made inaccurate appraisals. So appraisal from each and every site is not acceptable. To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal companies in a forum

Juck check this posting.

If the appraisal comes higher you can adjust your asking price accordingly.

After I verify an appraisal from you we'll continue our negotiations.

How do you prefer to get paid: www.PayPal.com, www.escrow.com, check or wire?

Hope we can come to an agreement fast.

Looking forward to your reply

It is serious or is a fake?

Thank You,
Teddy

Sorry, Teddy7 but this is a scam.

Seems everyone has received this sometime or other - the aim is to get you to use his appraisal company.

If you really look at the forum link he gives, it should all become apparent :td: (you would think these scammers would actually make an effort!)

Yup

Yup. sorry. Scam spam.... we just read this identical email in another thread. Face it guys, 99% of the time, if someone is offering you $XX,XXX - $XXX,XXX for a domain which you go crazy to get $1,000, then IT IS NOT FOR REAL. If it sounds too good to be true, then it isn't true.

Now, on the other hand, if a letter like this says, we would like to offer you $350, and you honestly believe it is worth a $1,000, then it probably is true!!!

Don't waste your vaulable time thinking scam spam like this is true. You should be deleting after reading maybe the first sentence.

Send him back a message and tell him if he wants it appraised that he needs to pay for the appraisal and you will deduct that amount from your selling price. I doubt you will hear from him again after that.
