What is your number 1 reason for participating at Namepros? Of course people participate here in many areas but what is your primary reason?

Why do people watch CNN? Because they like all types of world news. Why do people read Tech Crunch? Because they like all types of tech news. Why do people look at Yahoo? Because they like all types of news.
In my opinion there should be an all of the above option because choosing only one wouldn't be the correct answer. It's all of the above.
I still think it is biased/skewed cause that (debates/trolling) seems to be a recent trending topic here, and getting a lot of views.Certainly not biased or skewed, the order in which they were in made no difference and was not done for a reason. For many years I had plenty of people tell me they just came here to stir things up. I imagine the fact that the poll is public means some people who are here first and foremost to debate don't want their name attached to that.

Yes, there been "sh!t disturbers" in the past, the ones that come to my mind have either been weeded out or moved on..

How about a Community Favorite sidebar item that highlights the #1 most liked (includes Likes and Thanks) new discussion from the past 30 days?I wonder if there is any way that the priority list on the right bar could have an algorithm change / addition to better reflect the serious side that most seem to seek. Often a controversial title will zoom up the list, based on lots of people posting back and forth that they disagree with it, even if there is sometimes not much substantial content, while occasionally other posts that have a lot of meaningful content go largely unnoticed. But I realize it is a difficult problem.
I guess what I am wondering about is a section on right column that would have a list of a few articles that most would agree have a lot of value. For example, @Dave superb piece on Domain Investing, which is at the top of favourites for now, is the kind of valuable post I would like to see get highlighted for a longer period than it will naturally stay. One way (technically feasible?) might be a way to promote a post as particularly worthwhile and once it gets enough promotes it gets highlighted for some period of time.
We built the Domain Name Discussion aggregate to solve that problem: it is nearly the same as New Posts, but it only shows domain-related discussions.Using "new posts" function on the forum becomes useless, browsing domains for sale section too.

Community Favorite (on the sidebar) is also a link to the rest of the most liked content from the last 30 days.

Wow this has to be the most responsive big community anywhere. It is really nice to see Community Favourite and it is such a great and valuable article by @Dave that is the perfect way to start the new feature. How about a Community Favorite sidebar item that highlights the #1 most liked (includes Likes and Thanks) new discussion from the past 30 days?

it's not misguided at all. I put my answer next to each one. Sorry but using it for 5 out of the 6 would pretty much be ALL OF THE ABOVE.
