I might bid a couple of dollars on the .de .........you would have to pay me to take the .horse though....

Some decent "luxury" sales.....

@Alexander Baum did you pay $9,428 for the .us ?

@NickB no I paid for luxury.us much less. Where did you get this data?
But few years ago a company from the USA offered me 12k but I declined the offer.

The same with Luxury.de...
A german luxury company, which create handmade gold products contcated me few years ago in Instagram and offered me 15k Euros, but I declined the offer because Luxus.de (german word for Luxury) was sold on Sedo in 2016 for 25'500 Euros and now few months ago a new company have buy luxus.de so it could be possible that this company have pay more now.

btw...a women offered me for luxury.horse 300 Euros. Next time i should sell it :xf.grin:

the completly portfolio was buy, registered and catch in the last 10+y

For me it is difficult to estimate the value. 15y ago i had contact with the owner of luxury.com and he wanted over one million US$. Today the domain belongs to an investment company.

Luxury.shop is also good

A lot of oddball extensions sound good when putting a word in front of them, but selling such domains for decent money is usually a different matter.

If you got offers in that range (12k) you should have sold it in a flash. You wont be getting many offers like that.

I agree with @NickB ....The only one I would be intersted in is Luxury.de, the only strong extension there. I have sold quite a few .DE names and english words are just as common as german words in Germany and a lot of business is done solely in English.

@NickB Hey Nick, Im curious about those sales, where did you find them? Namebio shows Luxury.us selling for $1785 last year?

All the prices on that list are wrong. That's because he did a copy-paste, and the copied amounts to the clipboard are all wrong amounts. Just click on every domain to see the actual sale amount at Namebio.

I thought that may be the case, it happens if you copy/paste from Namebio. :xf.smile:

I just copied them from Namebio as @Sutruk said above.......just re checked and they are completely different to what I previously posted

Don't know how the hell I did it - only had 2 glasses of wine with my boxing day lunch so can't blame that....

That happens every time you do a copy paste from Namebio amounts. I guess that's to stop some bots from leaking the amounts of the sales in mass. I remember Michael telling about bots hitting the site a few time ago, that's why he implemented the captcha to access to the site. So I think that he also implemented this feature to stop the bots. If they cannot leak the correct amounts, they should stop hitting the site, in theory.

The extensions could be worth something as protective registrations to the .com owner.

Yea, that was one of my many desperate attempts to get the bots to stop slamming us into oblivion. The prices that get returned and put into the HTML are scrambled each time, but what you see on the front end is correct. The unfortunate side-effect is that it messes up copying and pasting for free users.

It doesn't completely stop the bots. They can still remote-control a real browser, take a screenshot of the page, and then use OCR to read the prices. So that's why I still had to add the CAPTCHA. But it does make it difficult enough that it stops most attempts.

The solution clearly makes it a lot more difficult for bots to leak the site. If they have to take screenshots and then use OCR to read the prices... I don't know if they are still capable of that, or a least if they will make it to the point of work to do that.
But clearly the trick is a very good one, pasting on the HTML code different numbers each time, and then putting on the front end the correct numbers.

Yea, must have been signed out, it definitely doesnโ€™t scramble prices for paid users. Nor does it do the captcha, block VPNs, or pretty much any of the other security stuff.
