What Is The Next Big Thing For New Regs?

So L-L-L.com 's are all gone. Any idea what the next big thing on the horizon is for new registrations? No new TLDs coming out and can't see any new .com tricks coming up.

llll.orgs would be my next one to pick as a standout. I would say lll.in but they're all gone now and selling for $25+ ea.

High quality 5 letter .com's with funky smooth pronounceability. Remember with 5 letter .com's available to 'reg' quantity does not matter. 'Quality' is all that matters

.asia seems to be the "next big thing for some people out there"

For me personally, I'm not wasting my money.

I'm betting on anything and everything 4 character becoming hot. My two favorites are...

1. L-LL are extremely undervalued and rare.

A 3 character domain like G-R.com goes for $3,000 so i-GR.com should go for much more than registration fee. Thus, they are a pretty good deal.

2. NLLL are often short, fun, brandable, unique and people like them.

A 3 Character Domain like 3QX.com goes for about $300 so a 4 character like 3QXQ.com should now be worth at least $30 and more into the hundreds if they contain a popular keyword. As things are now I've sold names like B2EZ, 1YUP, 0WOW, 2BOD, NUT3 for $25 to $300 each because lots of people see them as marketable to endusers desiring a short, catchy, name.

If you think that the price of 4 letter domains is high now....just wait until all the 4 character domains have been registered. They will double over night when the word gets out that nothing with 4 digits is available. Currently the public is a bit confused. They are scratching their heads and wondering if 4 letters like QXVC are valuable then how come car1 isn't considered rare. Car1 looks a whole lot better, has 4 digits, and says that their car is #1. A mathematician would point out that there are only 175,000 LLLN domains like car1 and the fact that it contains a rare dictionary word, it should be worth a whole lot. A few domainers scream out "it has numbers!!!" People don't like numbers! Then they stand dumbfounded when I say things like yup1 sold for $115 and I often get about $50 to $300 for a good 4 character with a keyword. Yet, these same people can quickly justify why a domain full of numbers like 3897.com goes for about $400 dollars but 389A only $7.

In closing, I made this little chart for myself to help me stay focused on 4 letter / character .coms. It helps me remember what my goal is so I don't get sidetracked and pick up something like YellowPintoOnSale.com while cruising the boards, especially when I'm getting tired. Perahaps it will be of a litte use to you.

GEO domains

I think something that will become really hot in the very near future 6 months to 18 months is city domain names. I live in one of the 10 largest cities in the US and I'm noticing that businesses are rapidly buying into the city initials + their business keyword and marketing it. Even a local Dominos franchise advertises XXpizza.com instead of defaulting to Dominos.com.

Here is an excerpt from one of my writings:

Just the other day I noticed a Dominos advertising the initials + pizza.com domain name. That’s a pretty hefty endorsement and that is the way things are going. Sure, the franchisee could go under dominos.com/city (if the franchise permits) but that’s not the same as having their very own domain marketed to the entire city...

If you live in an unpopulated area, search for bigger cities like Phoenix, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Memphis, San Diego, San Jose, and Jacksonville.

1. LLLL.net (Premiums) - Safe Bet.

2. Brandable 5L.com (Pronounceable Only - The VCVCV & CVCVC is rubbish for 5L)

3. Generic ccTLDs. (.co.uk / .co.nz / .de / .com.au for development )

4. ASIA - Premium single words


* IMO Double Hypenated domains are a disaster. (L-L-L) :hehe:
* .Me will also be a disaster - Useless domain.
