So L-L-L.com 's are all gone. Any idea what the next big thing on the horizon is for new registrations? No new TLDs coming out and can't see any new .com tricks coming up.

The natural progression should be upward pressure on LLL.net's, quality LLLL.net's will rise in value and then ccc.com's will go to mid $###. :imho:

CVCV.info are quite cheap, I stored about 50 Premiums of them.

first two are sure next big thing
but unsure about cvcvc.com & vcvcv.com because of number of possible combinations (21x5x21x5x21) ... maybe if we get some additional planets (mars etc.) ;)

Agreed. I'm going to pick up a few .me myself...
Quad Premium LLLL.nets will surely rise in value, but now is not the right time to invest in them imho. Six months from now when every quad premium sets you back $600+, I think they'll make a good investment.

Not a big fan of CVCVCs and VCVCVs... They seem like a copycat play (although I guess LLLL.net could be accused of that too) on LLLL.coms. They sell themselves on "questionable rarity", pronounceability, and brandability.

I just don't see enough Web 2.0/3.0 startups out there for these kind of names...

nothing can compare to LLLL.com. This is seriously. Everything else is the second class. However, from the second class you can pick some groups which will be less worse than the others :)

I would propose 80% of the budget to LLLL.com, 10% to premium LLLL.net, 5% to .me, and 5% elsewhere. Just my view.

That's a very wise budget to follow :)

CCC.* (* = Com, Net, Org, Info, and maybe Biz) will be next. Lookalike or Leet "words" first.

.Me will be just another cctld with high reg fees and low end-user interest.

although the question regards to new reg's i will talk about L-L-L.com

L-L-L.com are all reg'd but there are some expiring everyday and i really think it is worth paying $60 for some of them (sometimes even a premium one can be bought with this price)

if you check bluebecker you will see the recent sales... they are cheap because of LLLL.com but it wont be like this forever as people are grabbing LLLL.com as an investment now, but all this trade will be reduced as people will stop selling to keep them and have a great profit in some years (3-5)

so, if you asked because you intend to buy some of these niches i would go for expiring L-L-L.com (i am assuming you have just a few of them)

nobody here said L-L-L.com and this surprised me

i dont know why they werent cited as all of them are taken and 25% of them are developed websites... and you find potential end-users for, if not all acronyms, the great majority of them; i am telling this because i searched for them and for many L-L-L.com i have i found at least 10 potential end-users

These are great. I like them better than LLL.net and L-L-L.com to end users. :imho:

They are still many opportunities in ccTLDs - not the exotic ones like .vg but Europe/Latin America for example. Asian ccTLDs may be worth a look too (not .asia)

.org still has the stigma of only being used for "not for profit" companies and the like.

The new economy in a couple years will bring new reg ideas. The million dollar question is what will be the new economy?
