What is the most profitable business on the Internet now?

Adult, gambling or something esle?

I believe the domain registration busiuness is not profitable for small guys due to the big competition.

Many companies offer registration for less than $7-$8. I cannot do anything to beat them

Shoud I run a porno portal or what ?

all you need to do is find a niche and work it

Don't epect people to had you cash, building a profitable website / web business takes hours of hard work

As to Porn - Well you can make a buck, but there are alot of problems

heh....along with the legal aspects of each individual country your site is viewed in. Depends really with porn whether you are going to be "legit" or another dodgy porn site.

Personally, I would put my money into Gambling (if I had any) but to compete with the real players you can expect an initial outgoing of $100-125,000 just for the software. Then you have the merchant accounts, legal aspects of odds being set, Accountants to confirm the betting system is not rigged.

Domain reselling is the most profitable business. You buy a dictionary word domain for 5$ (at RackShack, but 5.41$ including tax) then sell it for 1000$ or above.

Neither porno and gambling are easy money. The market is so saturated now with hundreds of thousands of websites in both industries, you'll have to scratch and claw your way to getting noticed.

I have to agree with Paul here 100%. You have to find a niche that you can do well with. And that means *you*, because no one is going to hand you a pre-written formula for success.

If you can develop a site, develop the best site in a niche that you enjoy. The advertising market is coming back strong with programs like Google Adsense that allow you to earn money from creating content based sites. So find something you love, and go after it.

Yes. Web master resources are most popular. Look at how much money people are making from them because of the internet boom. There are thousands of web master directorys, hosted scripts sites and tuturial sites but yet they still turn a profit.

This is correct, though building a content site will take a while to establish traffics and users. But the long term results is good. Take an example of www.needguide.com, this was build 1999 as to provide webmaster guide, then grow as complete web portal. I build www.wirelesscon.com for wireless community last year, now got 3000+ members and getting 10+membership a day.

Now I used them for advertisement to get revenue.

Just stay away from internet marketing. It's highly saturated, much talked about, and probably "overrated" as it is.

Find a specific topic (especially one you enjoy), build it, then sell it to a RAW market.

I would say most profitable is web design, combining your design, coding and seo skills is a killer in todays market. One website startes at $1,500 at least and there are many potential customers out there, you just have to reach out to them.
