domain What is better - Whiskey or Best Whiskey? :)

Hi guys,
What do you think about BestWhiskey dot com (mine)?
Whiskey dot com (not mine unfortunately) was sold yesterday at TRAFFIC for 185 K.

For info: (in USA and Ireland is Whiskey, in Scotland is Whisky).

I think it has some value, but i would not let the huge whiskey.com sale cloud it's worth. It would be tempting to think bestwhiskey.com may be worth more than it is.

Maybe now would be a good time to test the waters by chasing a buyer, quoting the whiskey sale and see where that gets you, i have a price in mind, but i know you will not like it, so i won't say it.

Yes, sure, I understand which domain is better I don’t think that BestWhiskey has the value the Whiskey has - it’s just the title of the thread
Whiskey dot com is a killer name for US market.

Started this thread cause yesterday was an interesting day – Whiskey was sold and BestWhiskey was picked up by me.

Domains are like diamonds... One microscopic 'flaw' can change the value dramatically.
I do think "bestwhiskey.com" has some value, but I wouldn't begin to think it's anywhere contingent on or connected to what Whiskey.com sold for.

Pure, one-word category killers like that bring those prices because they're.... Pure, one-word category killers. You can't compare keyword domains well down the quality pike to what the one word generic sells for.

Based on what Im seeing in Google adwords keyword tool this domain is quite valuable. There are 14,800 searches for 'best whiskey' and many more for related terms like 'best scotch whiskey' unfortunately it cant be monetized with google adsense because its alcohol related, but theres other ways to make money. I dont know if theres affiliates for whiskey, if so thats the way to go.

Ill go on a limb and say $500-1500

There are 2,900 monthly searches for the term. I think mid $xxx is a little high and would wander down to a secondary twig and guess high $xx to low $xxx. IMO.

Disclaimer: Please keep in mind that this is a FREE appraisal. This is a guess at quick flip resale value not an unrealistic end-user price. Often times my appraisals are rushed, too low, or too high. Sometimes my advice is totally wrong and occasionally downright dumb. If the post stamp is after 5:00pm EST, the chances are even greater that inaccuracies will occur due to blood alcohol levels.

I want to market it to endusers of course. The idea is that if I was a whiskey manufacturer it would be nice for me to have a BestWhiskey domain. Just because of ambitions, not for traffic

So, what we have:

Best.com for 331 K + Whiskey.com for 185 K = BestWhiskey.com for ....? lol

you forgot www .kr which sold for $4000 + dot.es which sold for $1.100 + com.nu which sold for $30.056$

so . www Best Whiskey Dot Com = 4000 + 331000 + 185000 + 1100 + 30000 = $551.100

imo half a million should be possible to an end user (reseller just 250000)
