I don't understand.. can you explain it in simple terms?Namepros shows you the thread, with most recent comment.
Whenever someone posts a new reply to a thread, then it gets on the New Posts so NPs readers are more likely to notice it. It also has an extra reply which will help the thread get to the daily, weekly popularity lists on the sidebar. So he was simply saying thanks for providing a reply which helps bump the thread up and make it more noticed. Now for sure you'll know that i'm really a beginner, what is a bump? I haven't received any replies to a thread. If I lower the price considerable, will that bump it up to the top so others may reconsider my names?Whenever someone posts a new reply to a thread, then it gets on the New Posts so NPs readers are more likely to notice it. Bumps are used (with limits set by NPs) particularly on auction and other sales posts to help a thread stay on the first page and be noticed. Sometimes in other types of threads people add a reply partly to raise awareness of the thread.
Welcome to NPs @lightbear and we welcome your contributions, whether intended as a bump or not!

@Lord Antares is correct, but if you do want to post a price update (e.g., a lower price) in your thread, then that will also serve as a bump. Any post in a thread will bump it unless the system blocks the bump for some reason, such as exceeding your account limits. If I lower the price considerable, will that bump it up to the top so others may reconsider my names?
: seems the other way around in my mind: How could 100 bumps with no response make the odds of selling much higher? I'd think lower not higher given more exposure and still zero responses. Am I missing something or were you being satirical? It is an annoying thing people with bad domains do to bring attention to them.
You know, after 100 bumps without any response the odds of selling are much higher

About 3 hours ago, I lowered my price in Fixed $100 minimum and it didn't bump to the top. Have I misunderstood something? OR Does it take a day OR something else ?? Thank you.
Do you mean: to go to the thread AND REPLY to it myself AND type in the word POST and that will bump it right away???Post "bump" (or anything) in your thread AS A REPLY. So, below your post, in the post reply rection.
NOW I understand what bump is and does so in reply to your Thanks, I say: I'm glad to hear. Thanks @lightbear for bumping the thread.

Yay!! Magic. Thank you for knowing what to do and saying it clearly so I understand.Yes, that's correct. What you write doesn't matter. It could be "post" or "bump" or "banana". As long as it's anything.
You don't have to lower anything. A basic member can bump a thread every 12 hours. I think every 6 hours for you.
You can write "bump" or "up" or whatever you want to get your thread to the top.
I've recently become a VIP member, which means I now get three bumps a day for my auction listings. But I keep getting alerts that I have posted too soon after last listing. Does there have to be a certain amount of time between bumps?
There used to be a wait period in-between each bump, but we changed that behavior.Every 8 hours, should be.
Each allotted bump can be used once per day. In other words, each bump has its own 24-hour clock; all of your bumps do not share the same 24-hour clock.Does there have to be a certain amount of time between bumps?
