What happens when a closeout domain ends?

The Godaddy Closeouts have a certain cycle they go through. The buy it now price keeps dropping down all the way till $5 after that it usually goes up for grabs and you can hand reg it. Hopefully you were able to get it. Sometimes it is weird though as someone could have bought it.
When it comes to Godaddy closeouts I tend to just get them at the lowest which is $5 especially if I really like the name.
