I just looked up fusionbb. It's located at http://fusionbb.com . The price looks pretty steep though considering it's more expensive than vbulletin and it's still in beta.
its a 150 for lifetime use.... 99 pre release

i run it on www.animalclub.org very nice, everything its right out of the box like that.... no mods on my site

I just went to their Pricing and Ordering link and it says $395 Pre-Sale Special for an owned license. Maybe you have to join their forum or something for better pricing or it's hidden somewhere. Either way, the forum looks pretty good especially for something still in beta.

I use VB. I bought the linc and just pay $30 a year to get updates.

Also watch out for phpbb, my friends server just got hacked last night because of a customer running phpbb and yes it was the newest version.

I often wonder if it ever will be... Considering its not a new forum as it's been around for years you would think they would have it down by now. I only like it because its free... But I prefer VB and FusionBB as they look alot cleaner... I have never installed IPB, because there is just something about it that I DON'T like... So I have never installed it or even thought about installign it...

I think phpBB will be secure they just need some time, they are new to the world lol, they have alot of security holes so does IPB!
Installing IPB is the same as Installing any other Forum

$160 is not much to ask imho for such a excellent script, you can always buy a leased license first then move to owned.

Personally I like YaBB. It's light and very well written.

If I had $160 I would buy another VB for my brothers site. I think it would do good just from reading his guest book.

I use miniBB. Its best feature is simplicity, ease-of-use and speed.

I installed it for my site and very happy with it.
