With the recent changes at Escrow/com asking for extensive ID and other photo verification which domain escrow services are you likely to use in the future, and why?

Well, I just verified my account a few hours ago.

I've done it elsewhere before. All I can do is hope Escrow is as safe as they say they are...

None of services above, I used Flippa Escrow to receive money selling on Flippa. Need to verify by holding the ID card then selfie. Smooth transaction. :)

"Need to verify by holding the ID card then selfie" Worst thing someone can ask for, identity-theft-wise... Things have certainly changed since my last sale there.. I will not be selling on Flippa anymore. Thanks for the info. :)

..................Is everyone leaving escrow.com because they make the buyer and seller upload ID verification? That doesn't take long. I've done it on other sites before.

Well, I am. Dont know about anyone else.

On the one hand we have the US government telling companies like escrow.com that they have to collect personally identifying information (https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/31/1020.220). I, and others, argue that its being done in a very none secure manner, to be stored however and accessed by whomever (we do not know and at this point dont care anymore)........ Others argue that its no big deal. You have to decide where you stand (and I see that you have already).

But then the other hand of the US government says this: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0272-how-keep-your-personal-information-secure

Typical speaking out of both sides of the mouth government.

I dont necessarily blame escrow.com - they must comply. Sucks for me, sucks for them. You asked in another post why Sedo doesnt have to comply.... I am not sure if they do or not. If they dont then maybe its because they are based in Germany? Perhaps they do but others who have sold recently are posting that they do not require documents.

I'm going to buck the trend here. I voted for Escrow.com and Payoneer.com.

Escrow.com are the widest know escrow company and they will continue to be so after any shakeout. I did not have a problem uploading my driving license and phone bill. Although I wonder if the new owners at Escrow.com have the expertise to protect the information in their custody. I think they have the best refined services at the moment.

I voted for Payoneer.com also. I haven't used them yet. I have looked at and like their offering. They are run by the old Escrow.com CEO (before their acquisition). I think that was a great move for Payoneer to pick him up. I have a Payoneer Account. I think there will be some synergies for me by using them.

I have used Escrow.Domains also. They are showing their inexperience. Less than satisfactory. IMHO. But I expect their service to improve over time, with more experience.

Just completed an incredibly messy and difficult sale and used EPIK escrow for the first time as I won't trust Escrow.com with my details re hacking issues, never mind buyers not going to bother sending in verification.

Anyway, EPIK were absolutely fantastic from start to finish including working tirelessly on weekends. I can't tell you how many things went wrong here from the buyers end but EPIK dealt with it all admirably.

Makes moving on from escrow.com a true pleasure and thrilled I did so. Wonderful service!

Sedo even resolves for me the Invoice requests from some buyers...
I never did those invoices myself.

Escrow provides Invoices also once the sale is closed (emailed and on site).

Also, Escrow.com isn't cheaper (it only is under $25,000)... they are 3.25%, while Sedo's standard fee is 3% (and Sedo's standard process seems to be equivalent to Escrow's "concierge" service which is like over 6%).

And 3.25% is escrow's cheapest (wire/check/mo) payments via cc or paypal incur a 6.3% fee.

Cheapest is Epik, 0% (if their domain) or 1.5%.

Regarding Sedo...
Yes, they state an additional 3% processing fee added for payments over $500 via PayPal and CC...
But I still don't understand exactly who pays it (Buyer or Seller)...

p.s. I sell mostly in 4-figure range... and per my experience, ~all buyers are paying such amounts through Bank...
So 3% only for me (or $60) + under $20 my costs to receive wires from Sedo.

And as I heard from @robepik - they only charge 5% for disbursement via PayPal.
If wire transfer was used by the buyer and you disburse it via wire as well - they charge a fixed fee like other escrows.

Some buyers don't want to pay without issued invoice...
I had such cases...
