Just doing an unscientific poll.

What escrow service do you use when buying or selling domain names and why?

Personally I like Moniker escrow, since they actually take possession of both the money and domain before anything is transferred.

I use Escrow.com the most by far. It is the most credible service as far as end users go.

I have used EscrowDNS.com a fair amount as well, and MiniEscrow.com a couple times.

I use Sedo and Escrow.com in that order of preference. Sedo because i can receive my payment in paypal when i sell. When i buy i am fine with both based on the seller's preference.

I prefer Escrow.com even though there may be a higher risk than at Moniker Escrow.

I have used Sedo and Escrow.com

However, despite it's name, Escrow.com is not a "true" escrow service, and I will only use it with established users on the forum.

I use Escrow.com - I have constantly used Escrow.com as both a buyer and seller for mid $xxx sales & purchases as well as for low to low-mid $x,xxx purchases & sales.

As a buyer & seller that use Escrow.com it is by far the best. I have not used any other Escrow service and don't plan to. Escrow.com is great.

what do you mean by escrow.com not being a "true" escrow service

What I mean is that they don't actually take possession of the domain name in the transaction. They just verify using whois.

I've never had an issue when I used them in the past, but I can think of a scenario where there could be complications.
