I wonder what you, guys think of .vg domains. "vg" stands for "very good" or "video Games".

vg is very commonly used to describe very good. To see it, type "vg" in ebay search bar and you will find loads of vg.

Video games (vg) are also very popular among young people.

What do you think of its prospect?

I registered 6 LL.vg DNs about 2 mths ago including "ex.vg". The question is now, how will it effect resales?
Under normal circumstances i would guess since Adams is selling them for $500, that any LL/NN .vg should have a reasonable resale value of anywhere from ..... to....? (scarcity and reg. value considered)

I think that ".la" and ".bz" may be a good example. They used to allow 2-letter names, but now ".la" registry has put all 2-letter names to a premium category and does not allow to register those names at a regular reg fee. Similarly, two letter ".bz" names are not available any longer (I am not sure if they are all regged or if the registry changed their policy.).

However, although 2-letter ".la" and ".bz" names are being sold at higher than a reg fee, you should not expect too much. The recent sale prices for "21.bz" and "fv.bz" from this forum may be good examples (You can find the sales thread by searching "21.bz" or "fv.bz").

I whole heartedly agree with both sales and their respective values ($80 on NP and $102.50 on eBay) - however, both sales finalized before the registration fee was increased to $500 - how does/will this change the game...
I've never experienced such a situation, thus the question. ;)

:imho: increased reg. fee with scarcity of available domains should bring these domains to $300-$600. I can only guess, thus might easily be wrong on this one...

Those sales were after the 2-letter reg fee was increased or 2-letter reg was completely closed. ".la" and ".bz" are operated by different companies (they made the policy change for 2-letter names much earlier that AdamsNames did), and .vg/.gd/.tc/.ms are operated by AdamsNames and they only made the policy change a couple of weeks ago. So, what I meant in the earlier comment was that ".la" and ".bz" can be good examples.

In the 2-letter names market, I believe it does not really matter what TLD it is. In fact, they are all obscure and unknown TLDs, and the only thing that matters is the fact that 2-letter names are rare.

There are no more 2-letter .vg/.gd/.tc/.ms/.la/.bz names available at regular reg fee, as AdamsNames reserved all .vg/.gd/.tc/.ms names, and the operators of .la and .bz did the similar things last year (or the year before last year), which is a good sign. However, there are still ".gs" and ".vc" (operated by yet another company), which still allow 2-letter names and still have plenty of good 2-letter names available.

I believe that, once .vc and .gs are also exhausted or become expensive, the value of 2-letter .vg/.gd/.ms/.tc will be at least mid $$$.

I have a number of 2-letter names, and I am waiting for that moment. The situation is not bad. So far, .la / .bz / .gd / .tc / .vg / .ms are already gone, and .vc and .gs are the only two. They will eventually take the similar pattern that all .bz / .la / .gd / .vg / .tc / .ms did. It is going to be within a couple of years, then there will be no more 2-letter DN available on earth at reg fee. It is not that far!

Yep, pretty much my point, i'm just way too tired to type all this and think it through. So, thanks. ;) I'll hold on to mine and see what develops. I guess my best bet will remain to be ex.vg and gps.vc

Anyhow, thanks for your thoughts, i think you're right on target.
