Hi,

RealEstate.tv would be ideal, however, for those of us who did not get that one I would like to know your opinion on other real estate .tv domains such as:

europeanrealestate.tv

asiarealestate.tv

Thanks in advance.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Personally, I think it's a good idea.

What better place to showcase virtual listings, with 360 views of a home's interior. Or video listings of houses for sale.

I think once it caught on a lot of others would follow suit. It's just getting it to catch on.

Or maybe it already has...I haven't really looked.

I think they are very good but be more specific so you can hone in like Maliburealestate.tv or BostonRealestate.tv or tokyorealestate.tv. Again IMO

The top 300 cities in the USA by population are gone. Trust me...lol.

These are $x,xxx-$xx,xxx domains when sold to endusers IMHO. The average home sale here in Georgia is $200,000. The typical commission is 6% which equals $12,000. So, again to my point, *ONE SINGLE home sale would pay for the cost of doing business and basically allowing his/her business to automatically rise to the next level of credibility/acceptance by owning such a powerful domain.

It truly is the ULTIMATE competitive advantage IMHO. The .com versions are WELL gone, and either sell for xx,xxx - xxx, xxx. Recently the trend has shifted to "leasing" these cityrealestate.com's for x,xxx-xx,xxx per month. These domains are *gold mines* because of the DN and instant branding. Again however, I believe the .TV's provides that "edge" to any broker/agent, quite instantly when properly developed.

BostonRealEstate.TV was picked up on a drop not to long ago. There are basically (4) people that own the entire category.

I was just in time to scoop these up...

TurksAndCaicosRealEstate.TV
JamaicaRealEstate.TV
CaymanIslandsRealEstate.TV
PuertoRicoRealEstate.TV
HonoluluRealEstate.TV
DaytonaBeachRealEstate.TV
PanamaCityRealEstate.TV
DestinRealEstate.TV
RenoRealEstate.TV
WashingtonDCRealEstate.TV
CorpusChristiRealEstate.TV
MalibuRealEstate.TV

I agree with Eq - it does need to be more specific. As an example, a consumer is more likely to be interested in real estate in just one city (like Los Angeles) not the whole State of California - thats just too broad.

Therefore, IMO, [City]realestate.tv has more value than [State]realesate.tv and certainly more value than [Country]realestate.tv.

Recently the trend has shifted to "leasing" these cityrealestate.com's for .....
Ron Jackson wrote this up about a year ago. From memory, Frank S had some realestate domains that Leasethis.com leased out (HollywoodRealEstate.com?)

Thanks for the replies (by the way)

The reason I asked is because I read the most recent story on DNJournal about Rob Grant and his empire of premium domains like realestatedirectory.com

So as I was looking at his site I decided to pick up a few .tv's with the same exact domain names as his that I thought would be relevant to the real estate market but with the .tv extension.

Realestate.tv is a pretty darn nice and comprehensive website but I do agree with EQ that specificity is great, however, if you have asiarealestate.tv you could then break it out into north south east west, etc...and build a very robust asia specific real estate site as well.

Thanks again for your opinions.

RealEstate.TV is for sale by owner for $1,000,000. RealEstatetv.tv is a pretty big company in the UK. Property.TV sold for $100,000 a few years ago.

I agree that cityrealestate.TV's are by far the best route and that state and countries will be much more difficult to meet the expectations of the viewers/advertisers.

The only Geo Realestate domain I own I have been debating renewing CaymanIslandRealestate.net.

There are other equally important keywords in this area besides "real estate".

They are:
Property
Apartments (most of the worlds western population live in apartments)

Therefore, [City]property.tv or [City]apartments.tv has very good value IMO

i like property because it can represent "land" also

I agree, property and MLS, and apartments can and will be valuable.

;)

BUT..."real estate" across the board will be the best route as it serves as the most searched and generic option.

property sums it all up really,
shorter than real estate says the same thing.
