What do you think about apostrophes?

Does anyone like/dislike using a name with an apostrophe? Example:

You need to make up a website name for a relative, and think "Uncle Bob's Website" would be absolutely the best.

But the domain name would be:

unclebobswebsite.com

Would people type that in correctly, or is there a bit of a hesitation?

Just curious...

Tom

Though I've come across a couple of these, either advertised or located in Google searches, what have you ... I'd think they'd be a bit problematic generally, especially at the Reseller level (insofar as undeveloped valuations), IMHO.

I would try to avoid it as well unless the business name is well known and people automatically enter the "s" when attempting to go to the website of the business. Welcome to NamePros Tom!

It's not much of an issue. Most people know to omit the apostrophes in typing domain names.

Take these big name brands, all of which have apostrophes in their names, and consider the domain names they use....

Wendy's
Carl's Jr.
M & M's
McDonald's
