Hello guys,

Just want to share opinions about ".AC and .Travel" TLd. Do you think both of them is worth for investment? Is there any big sales from those TLDs?

Avoid .travel .... I've read a few things lately leading me to believe it might not be here much longer.

As far as .ac goes .... It's not something I've looked into much really.

Results 1 - 100 of about 490,000 for site:.sc (0.15 seconds)
Results 1 - 100 of about 665,000 for site:.ac (0.23 seconds)
Results 1 - 100 of about 1,880,000 for site:.mobi (0.21 seconds)
Results 1 - 100 of about 2,570,000 for site:.name (0.17 seconds)
Results 1 - 100 of about 46,400,000 for site:.info (0.14 seconds)

It doesn't appear to be getting a lot of attention from google ATM .... But surprisingly more than .sc :o

The Registration fee is a bit Steep for Speculation on General keywords IMO ~

As mark has said, .travel is about to go out of business. Also, I might recommend checking the TLD's rules and policies before purchasing. Example, .travel does not allow for domainers to purchase domains, with the intent to sell. You must actually be in the travel industry to acquire a .travel domain name. Now, considering that and the fact they are going under - I would say its a very poor investment.

Now - How does .ac look? Well looking through the site in my sig, I notice that not a single .ac sale has been publicly reported...

Even .ws and .name have reported sales. This leads me to the conclusion that .ac is a poor investment to buy domains for resale. My advice? Save up and buy a com.

I agree..

I agree with that opinions. But how if i look for MAIN-GENERIC KEYWORD for .AC investment? I looked at SEDO yesterday and currently there is an auction for Games.ac with current bid $25,000! Is it a positive sign?..

That counts domains like univ.ac.uk , univ.ac.in etc also.. So it doesn't give required results.

what do you think 'Smooth?
With ccTLD is worth for investment now?
Is it .FM, .AC, .JP, .CN or CO.IN?

I am very skeptical of this bid, and would advise you not to judge an entire ccTLD on one sale at Sedo....

I'd invest in
1 letter cctlds
restricted cctlds (like ****, tv.xx)
.in (coz Im basically from India & I know the market).

Otherwise, investing in GTLDs is a better idea. Reseller prices are stable & is easy to find end-user.

For extensions like .fm, .ac etc its not worth unless you know someone that'd be interested.

That was taken rough from google - I know how to Filter it with a script I wrote , But even that wouldn't be 100% accurate .... It's not a guide of how many are registered - But a rough way to see how much Love Google shows for an extension ;)

Oh and BTW .... I removed the www<dot> xx link from above .... That was leading to an adult page

That domain doesn't take me anywhere - coz there's no extension as .xx. Probably, the browser added the .com & took you to xx <.> com. :tri:

It means nothing. Even if the bid is for real, sales like that are not going to happen often. The exotic TLDs very rarely sell. For development they may be OK, for resale they should be avoided. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than selling for a good amount.
