As big as the domain industry is and several resources available what do you still feel is missing in the domaining world?

Applications?
Software?
Not enough resources?

In your opinion what do you think needs to be changed or improved upon?

what's missing....

"common sense" on the part of many, as they always want simplicity in a complicated game

"out the box" thinking, cuz there are too many followers

"self-education", as too many want to be "spoon fed" information, they want to know the best this or that, when there is no "cure all".

You think there is a shortage of buyers and end users?

I'm not sure I can agree there as the sales thread, DN Journal, and many more show sales are indeed happening.

Compared to the numbers of domains registered over a couple hundred million, those numbers are small, 1 to 2 % turnover rate is nothing to get excited over imo.

Biggie makes a good point in that people are looking for an exact guide or an answer. Domaining is an art and not a science. 1 + 1 does not always equal 2 in domaining.

A smaller extension field.

Way too many frigging extensions now.

Domainers that set reasonable prices. Why can't I get frankenstorm.com for $X,XXX (still would be a major overpayment) But the domainer is demanding $150,000 USD...

that is so true

perfect example of how many put 1 + 1 together and assume it equals 2.

they go to gkwt

they take an exact match number for a keyword or phrase, paired with a cpc.
and assume any available extension with that/those terms, has value

however, when making that general assumption, structured as an equation... the sum would not always equal "2".

einstein couldn't write all the calc for the variety of factors and gut feelings, that go into name acqusition decisions

less extensions, more demand, and search engines favoring the stronger extensions like .com, .net, and .org over others...

A better economy and fewer Sedo bidders that run away with their tail between their legs when I counter. D-:
Like Obama, a sure sign they are scaredycats.

that's almost like saying "my sites sucks please help my sites rank above others"

also define "strong extensions"

In a Capitalist Free Market (in which the domaining world is included), the weak, the dumb, and the helpless.... will die.

What you are asking for, is Socialist Domaining.
