One thing I have found very useful is looking at foreign domain discussion sites. With google translate now you can get a decent sense of what they are talking about (although don't rely too much on the translations).

Domain.cn (Chinese)
Demene.com (Spanish)
Domenforum.net (Russian)
Domainforum.info (German)

I was interested in NNNNN.com so I used google to find discussions about them in foreign language forums. It was interesting to see how excited the Chinese were about numeric domains, and it gave me an interesting perspective on how the Asian market is going to be a driving force of demand for numerics over the next few years. For example, if you are interested in LLLL.com I would say type in "llll.com" and "domenforum.net" into google to see threads where they talk about it in the Russian forums (make sure you select translate if you don't know the language). It's interesting and potentially very valuable information in this truly global business of ours.

Good luck!

I check Domaining.com a few times a day, saves you time and keeps you up todate.
I also check SimplyGeo.net, a great forum for geo-domainers.

It hasn't been updated in awhile but if you read through the archives at:

http://www.SevenMile.com

you'll find a wealth of information. I'm a bit partial to the site in my signature too. :hehe:

Install domainers toolbar.
Its a Firefox toolbar.
I use it :xf.love:

You can download it here => http://domainerstoolbar.com/

After you have installed it, there are lots of domain-related links in your FF toolbar and you can visit them :tu:

Afternic

Afternic seems to be worthwhile. I only have 11 domains; have listed them for sale with Afternic. Since I'm a newbie I don't expect much while I'm still learning, but it's fun to check in with my Afternic account just in case!

Also, for numeric domainers there are some fun tools to see what words a numeric can spell on a cell phone keypad (and thus have potential value for sites that can be easily accessed by mobile phones):

This site converts words into numbers:

And this site does the opposite, you type in a number and it will find words in it:
