What are all these projects???

So, I'm browsing through the for sale sections the other day and I saw that a lot of people are begrudgingly selling their names because they are "saving up for a new project". Realizing that there is no way someone would just say that in order to have an excuse for why they are selling and thereby somehow pump their domains' values, I ask: What are all these projects?

They sound truly exciting if people are willing to part with names they otherwise love in order to start them.

I want to be in on one of these projects!

Nor do I lol. I think there's a few domainers around who'd be more inclined to give you a lower offer if they felt you were cash strapped...

I only use the excuse when people ask me why I'm no longer buying domains

actually it is kind of unethical, lying is always unethical...
same goes when people say 'well i had plans for this domain, but if you offer good money..." when someone inquires about a name which you actually bought exactly for resale in the first place...

Not everyone is like that dude..

Think of the many generations who have put their dreams, ideas or whatever else on the shelf because they had to take care of whats at hand. Sometimes when the time is there but the cash isnt. You will see some take loans out, while others will be creative and sell what they know they can get in a year after their project is finished.

Then there are the people who play on the emotional strings..

Or on the flip side...I am guilty of buying a domain for a particular project and then either get side tracked and not complete it or just change my mind about it altogether and then its off to a new project. As long as you get a good price on the domain why does the reason matter.

I think most people sell not because of "new" project, but they want to sell faster. I have never used that term ever myself.

I prefer the term "new venture" myself.

I always have tons of "projects". But since they are "projects" I bought, oh say just about a year ago, then the name I bought for a "project" is probably up for "project renewal" and I simply don't have time to renew that "project", or don't feel it is worth reinvesting in that "project".

In all honesty, I have about 5 "projects" coming up that I really wanted to do, but simply ran out of time. Because those "projects" are in "areas" that require more investment that I am not willing to do, I am putting them up for sale. I honestly wish I could renew those "projects" but simply don't feel it is right at this time.

If I could sell 99% of my "projects" I might actually get to complete the other 1% of my working on "projects".

Whew, my shift+' combo "project" is hurting.

I don't see it as a big deal. All that matters to me when buying/selling is name, price, and reputation. Whatever else is dicta.

to me it is kinda important
if the sellers says that he sells the domain name because he thinks it sux or because he says the domain name got trouble, how come I will not care about it?
