Everyone talks about snapnames, but the minimum price is $60, thats an expensive mistake.

What about tdnam, they have some buynow names for 5 dollars. Are these not as good? Have they been picked over before by definition?

Thanks!

I have found quite a bit success with TDNAM domain names. I had picked up a domain name at TDNAM for approximately $100 that I have just completed escrow on for $3000. Held the domain name for about 6-7 months.

Now, are there gems on TDNAM? Yes. You have to know what to look for and what situations to avoid. My recommendations are to search for domain names and if you think you find one, wait until the last few possible moments to place a bid. The second you make a bid, you "highlight" that domain name for other people. You'll instantly attract much more attention and may get into a bidding war if you do it too soon.

Be advised, there are several large buyers on TDNAM and on some of the top names, your going to have trouble wrestling away at a reasonable price. Good luck!

Do you think if we all believed TDNam was a good catcher we would prefer the $60 over the $5 ?

My friend it's not "mistake" when you trying to get the name you want and $60 is nothing compared with real values offered

My last successful purchase at snapnames was $5500

Just for clarification - SnapNames and TDNAM are two very different services. TDNAM functions only to auction GoDaddy Company domain names (GoDaddy,WildWest,BlueRazor) - TDNAM is not a catch service.

SnapNames although has partenerships with some Registrars to auction off their expired names, is a backordering service. They catch names from other registrars and aution them off. At TDNAM there is no drop, the domains age remains intact. At SnapNames, often times there is a lapse in registration and it starts fresh.

so then by definition, since godaddy is selling their own inventory, they wouldn't let go any gems for $5?

The formula they use to determine pricing pretty much insures you wont get any fantastic names at $5 - but you can find them there and for very reasonable.
