Weird Typo Auction At Bido

Can anyone tell me why there are 5 bids by 3 different bidders for this domain??

ORGANICFERTILIZER.COM is a really great domain but certainly not ORGANICFERTILZER.COM.

Also weird is that the owner has spend 1 bido credit to accelerate this auction and more weird stuff: the domain has expired and is pending delete (EDIT: I just checked another who.is and it seems like the domain is now renewed LOL)!

Am I missing something here?!?

No. But it's one of the reasons that some people like to use Bido to sell, I'm guessing. This isn't the first example of this and certainly won't be the last.

It's an easy thing to pull. Put out a typo - get a friend to vote - it seems like a legitimate auction and watch the suckers roll in. I've seen a lot of auctions skip the double letter ... programminguide.com for example.

Domainers scan, they don't peruse.

Is it you who put all the .al hacks out there? I like brid.al. I voted for it while I was there...

lol, yes most of the hacks submitted are mine ,

I had a lot of interest in brid.al so far, so I believe it will sell for an o.k. price (auction starts at No reserve as for all of my bido auctions, even have air.mobi at no reserve in the mix - I'll let the market decide what these names are worth)

I am personally a big fan of bido and I feel they are doing great improvements as always (I really like the increased minimum reserve price, the limited daily submissions and the limited voting credits this should really increase the quality of the submitted domains/running auctions over time IMO)

I think the typo thing could happen at Ebay as well or another auction place probably not in a forum where just someone will leave a comment as soon as discovered, at bido you need to be an expert to leave a comment, and not all bido experts are experts in the field (at least that was my impression in the past LOL - maybe that will change too??).

I am not sure if it's really someone pulling a scam, but perhaps you are right. Certainly the accelerator should be aware that his domain is not the "real" thing...

Nice catch. Kind of reminds me of the huge sale of GovermentGrants from 1 or 2 years ago (I'm too lazy to look it up). I don't really think it's a scam if it's a typo and people happen to bid on it. It's easy to overlook such things, but if you're actively bidding on a name it behooves you to look closely and do a search on the term, just to be sure.

Yes sorry, I am a bit behind with updating all the domains that I am sending to auction (have currently 17 domains that made it thru the voting stage so far, brid.al is one of them), once I filled in all the needed information and bido approves them for auction they'll become visible again

1 bidder realized the typo and retracted his bid...

I feel bad for the buyer, $55 is a lot of money for a worthless domain

I was just browsing Bido and saw this name:

and quickly placed 3 votes and the moment I clicked vote I realized it's a typo...

but now the worst part this domain is NOT registered...

Is someone trying to get votes and then register the name hoping for some suckers to bid?

Or did the owner of naturalsleepsupplements(.)com make a typo?

But how come it passed thru the Bido verification then?

It seems Bido still hasn't made a lot of changes since last time around...

Nice find, natualsleepsupplements.com did slip in when we did a manual verification, the seller was not able to verify that on their own, of course, and we verified the wrong one.

The correct domain is: naturalsleepsupplements.com and has been corrected.
I would also like to mention that the verification system is currently being overhauled to prevent such occurrences.
The system wouldn't allow that, but human error will. People make mistakes, robots usually don't when they are trained properly.
