Does anyone here use Web Notepad, and if so what do you think of it? I just downloaded it.

It's the first decent looking (as in - looks good), html editor I've have found.

And does anyone know of any good looking opensource HTML editors?

I now run a MacOS so this wouldn't work for me. At first glance, it looks like notepad w/ some coding features and FTP support.
I use Dreamweaver and, sometimes, Taco HTML Edit for something quick and on the fly.
I recently downloaded a demo of PHP Studio to see if there are any features or benefits that are above and beyond what's avail from DW, but haven't taken it out of the box, yet.

NVU is a free, open source HTML editor which is DW-like, but it doesn't handle some exts, ie.doc, very well, and did crash on my sys from time to time- although, not enough to rule it out if you wanted an inexpensive, (free), substitute for DW.

personally...I like Dreamweaver, especially because of its FTP features: your writing a file, you automatically upload it instead of save file>open ftp client>upload

It's especially useful when I'm trying to write PHP

Couldn't agree more. Initially I was using DW just for editing- couldn't quite wrap my head around the "Dreamweaver Site" idea. But once I got it down and figured out how DW integrates local/remote folders and what paths to plug in, Dreamweaver speeds things up a bunch and the integration really does make publishing and making changes fast, easy and much more fluid.

I don't like Dreamweaver because the most php editing I do is vBulletin files, and Dreamweaver has a habit of automatically formatting and screwing up a lot of the vB files, so I just use notepad.

I find Dreamweaver sometimes to cluttered, and I probably wouldn't use half the features as I hand code.
