Was just going through my portfolio and noticed that one of my domains at Moniker expired, dropped and was caught by someone who's now listed it for sale @ $3000.

I have expiration/renewal notices turned ON in my account settings, as I always have. They simply are not sending them to me anymore (since the site update it seems).

Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone had any luck with any recourse in this situation? Moniker cost me thousands (the domain is a good buy at $3000) because of their error (which is ongoing, by the way).

You should not just rely on the registrar's notifications.

Just put all your names on a worksheet, then do a sorting based on their expiration date.

Most of your names stats can be monitored by using this method.

I second that.

To answer your question; Moniker has been sending notices about any name currently registered there. Since their change, they have been having all kinds of issues.

The same thing happened to me about one year ago. They had not send the 3rd notice.

Do consider that there are many reasons an email delivery might fail, even though the email is practically sent as it should. Working in a company where many automatic notifications are sent I often encounter customers claiming they didn't get their email. Sometimes they find it in Spam, sometimes they find a filter they set that rejected it. The point is that when a bigger company is concerned, sending automatic notifications daily to multiple recipients, they cannot oversee the whole process and double-check with every client that all is received.

Of course it might be a completely different case whatsoever, just sharing different viewpoints. If its a major issue, concerning multiple clients, shouldn't there be a much stronger reaction around the web? Have you checked about other people having the same issue in the last couple of weeks?
