Warning against a member...

I strongly urge any of you going into business with Dejan Lesicar (NamePros member @venturefile.com and owner of sites like sexydress.us) to be very cautious. He is about to cost our company Brandroot a lot of stress and money as we pursue serious legal action against him.

In short the details are as follows:

4/08/2014 - Dejan creates a Brandroot account
5/09/2014 - Wuvo.com is accepted and listed for sale at a price of $6750
09/29/2014 - Dejan requests that Wuvo.com be removed from Brandroot because "The name was accepted to an auction event."
10/14/2014 - Brandroot receives a $3,000 offer for wuvo.com
10/14/2104 - Dejan rejects and reminds us that he removed his name

We then remind him of his contractual obligation of keeping Wuvo exclusive to Brandroot for a period of 30 days following the request of removal.

10/15/2014 - In the interested buyer impatience he raises his offer to $4500.

Dejan is intrigued and writes, "Thank you for the update. That is a decent offer and I will seriously consider it." For several days Dejan is unresponsive, ignoring several of our emails.

10/22/2014 - In a matter of minutes of informing Dejan that he is no longer welcome to sell at Brandroot and that Wuvo.com will be removed, Wuvo.com sells at full price for $6750.

10/22/214 - Dejan decides that he does not want to sell Wuvo at Brandroot and that my email stating that his name was removed ended his contractual obligation with Brandroot (which the email in no way stated).

Our financial loss due to Dejan's unprofessionalism is not the concern. Brandroot is now left with one very unhappy customer threatening us with litigation. We have informed Dejan that we will stop at nothing, "making this venture of [his] a lot more expensive and stressful than [he] thought possible."

You've been warned. Dejan Lesicar is very capable of leaving you in one sticky situation if you enter into business with him.

however, this is a tricky issue and wavy line is being drawn here


let me clarify

how can an member start a negative thread against another member, about an issue that happened off-site, on the OP's platform, and then when discussion turns against him and his biz tos, he is permitted to change 'user names' multiple times thru-out the engagement, finally giving an apology.....and have it readily accepted?

I would request that OP should change user name back to original when thread was started, and in order to "stay" an active member in good standing "must" maintain same user name so he can be identified.

rader/themoon/pluto...must be one.

when you put your property in the hands or control of another, you need history and references for that entity.
if they change face, to save face, then what are they facing up to?

Sometimes we hold business owners and people in leadership positions to standards above human because we're used to the carefully crafted fronts most try to portray. It's easier for them because they stay out of the limelight. But I'd bet 99% of business-owners have done something "unprofessional" at one time or another.

"Above human"? No way. Holding to standards of the highest degree? Absolutely and always. That is how good business is done. To expect any less is to support substandard "bad" business.

There are many alternatives to pretending like it never happened.. for example, remembering that it happened. We have one forum user "Thanking" Pluto/MoonRader/Brandroot for "understanding". Wtf?

I don't know what is sincere or isn't but I'm with Biggie in terms of it coming from a Disney dog rather than Brandroot.

What I do not understand is how everyone just glosses over what actually happened here, lest we forget:

He NAMED and DEFAMED one of his customers PUBLICLY .. and then also was quite happy to THREATEN him.

This is also not isolated. This is part of a pattern of aggressive, disrespectful posts imho.

I don't care if people do business with him or can look past these actions - but you can't just pretend the history is not there. You have to earn that respect and trust back (usually). I actually do hope that he really does learn lessons and make improvements and that he becomes a company that is making a decent living (vs hemorrhaging it as he said). I'm really not convinced MR is a bad guy.. but he's not proved he's a good guy, either. Maybe in time he will... it's not like I'm not guilty of pissing people off either .... and I hope he proves to everyone that he is (not that he has to impress everyone or anything).

Domainers forgave Snapnames so I guess anything is possible if you have a service that people want.

I agree this shouldn't be merely forgotten. But it doesn't need to linger, either. He did bad and apologized. Move on, ppl. You shouldn't forget this happened, but there is no sense in holding onto it. It's said and done. Move on

I'm with Archangel...it shouldn't be forgotten. And it won't, thanks to the indelible virtual ink of the internet it will live on in perpetuity. Hopefully the apology is genuine and it will carry over to other threads and business dealings. After all, there wouldn't be buyers without sellers, and the fact there are other brandable marketplaces, we do have choices. I've already invested $150 in listing fees w/ BR (just prior to this thread) hopefully it will prove to be a worthwhile investment. I definitely want to do business with business' that respect and value my efforts, not threaten, derail or lambast me or my fellow compatriots.

Whether the apology was sincere or not, the multiple name changes over the course of two days make it impossible to take Brandroot seriously as a business.

As they say, the cover-up is sometimes worse than the crime.

If you are not willing to stand behind your words, then your words are worthless.

Sorry but that thread cannot be found when I click on the link- has it been made private or moved or is there a typo? Maybe we need more mindfulness of spelling here, but I'll happily forgive that spelling mistake as this is not a business matter, and it hurts no one and breaks no laws, and you do not benefit from it financially.
