Wanting to buy my name as a .com

So check it out... I had rick-morgan.com for 4 or 5 years, but I cancelled my credit card on file with Godaddy for fraud, and I didn't check that email when they sent me my warning emails. Needless to say, my domain name was released and the new owner wants $300 to give it back.

What I've been thinking of lately is buying RichardMorgan.com, however, if you check it out, there's no way to contact the owner. I'm going to have to use something like Godaddy's tool as an agent to try to get it for me. The only problem is I have to submit a price quote when I contact them. RichardMorgan.net is a premium domain valued at almost $700.

What I'm wondering is if RichardMorgan.com is valued a whole lot higher than its .net equivalent, or if I should make an offer in the same price range.

Any thoughts? Anyone have experience with this?

If you don't mind double hyphens RICK--MORGAN.COM is available.
Other then that you are at the owners whim. I also checked Rmorgan.com but that is gone as well.

Also the premium domain value doesnt mean squat for the value of the .com. I would ask sedo.com to broker it for me and see where that takes you.

A quick research and I found that in 2006 the whois wasnt private... (assuming same owner of course)

BTW - I highly recommend NOT using Godaddy's Buyer agent - its just a waste of time and money. However I can say that in order to get the domain you want, be prepared to spend a fair amount of money.

Personally I think that is ridiculous. If you need the old name for the email be sure that the owner has held it for over 5 days (they could be testing traffic and might let it go) and deal with them. Otherwise find a variation that you like that is not taken.
