As in Windows applications? Any .NET language will do the job good and fast.

You seem to know a lot of handy languages already... Why not start using them?

May I suggest Ruby or Java? :)

Ruby's amazing but I'm not sure it's popular enough to be handy just yet. Couldn't hurt. You could always go back in time and learn perl... that's still in common use on linux hosts and it's an incredibly powerful language... incredibly weird too. Coolest thing about perl was that it was designed by a linguist, not by a programmer.

Learn python if you think you'll be playing with open source game development on linux. A lot of level loaders and other parts of games are done in python scripts. But if you're doing that you really need C++, Python, and OpenGL and possibly OpenAL under your belt.

If I were you I'd try Flex. The open source flash framework.
Very powerful.
