I think this is a great article for mobi because:
- It characterizes in the title "Mini Web Sites" which is a nice way to differentiate mobi sites from conventional dot com sites.
- The subtitle mentions "New Kits" in describing the simple how-to-build-your-own mobi-site tutorials that are proliferating.
- The article starts off with a an example of a small business (a bed and breakfast ) who added a mobi site in addition to his dot com site, and includes his testimonial that it is already getting him business... what a great story to make other small to medium sized businesses think that maybe they should do this too.
- It covers that big companies are also using mobi and gives some examples.
I think this article helps highlight what may be a major plus of mobis...simplicity.
Business owners often look at a website as a huge project, overwhelming. They are busy enough just trying to run their business day to day. A website, or improving an old site, involves planning, strategy, design, composition, and questions such as.... include ecommerce or not? lead forms or not? how many pages? use which photos? do we even have any good photos? what do we say about the business? am I a good writer? I think may businesses actually put off having a website, or improving an old one, because it is just too big of a project...in their minds. These mobi sites are simple! Less decisions!
For the many business owners and professionals across the U.S. that read the Wall Street Journal, this may well be their first exposure to mobi, and it is a positive soft sell of the concept.
