Waiting Period at GoDaddy?

Okay, first of all, I'm as green as can be so hopefully I posted in the right place. I only started buying domains in the last few days. I've hit an apparent snag though, among many others. At GoDaddy, where I see that most people have their domains registered, it appears they have a waiting period or freeze or whatever you want to call it (60 days!) on newly transferred and registered domains...

Is there a way around this? I was hoping to sell the domains quickly, or at least try to sell them.

If it's a high-value domain (between $100 and $25,000) and you've found an interested buyer, have him/her make a Network Solutions certified offer (www.certifiedofferservice.com). There's a $20 PLUS 5% commission imposed on the buyer, but I've found that NS somehow circumvents GoDaddy's 60-day restriction rule. NS also conveniently escrows the transaction for you.

If it's a lower value domain (< $100), you could ask the buyer whether he/she wouldn't mind using GoDaddy as his/her registrar. If the buyer is willing, you could ask him/her to sign up for a GoDaddy account, after whih you simply perform an account change (a.k.a "push") on the domain. The whole process takes 5 minutes.

There's no problem if the buyer uses Godaddy as his registrar you just push it through to their account - it's almost instantaneous (i.e. 15 minutes or so)

The waiting period is not only at GoDaddy, its at every registrar.

Some registrar like GoDaddy an 77gb let user "push" the domain within the registrar for free without the need to wait for 60 days.

If you want to transfer outside the registrar to another registrar you have to wait 60 days, no way to come around it, as I know of.

Good luck.

Yeah, the 2nd customer support dude at godaddy told me it's okay to transfer to another godaddy user. The first one I spoke to said there is no way. Thanks. I guess I got my question answered.

Now I have another one...
Could someone tell me or give me a link to the best places to sell/auction domains. One with none to minimal listing fees. Much appreciated!!! This site is a true education!!!
