VisitDestination.tv is a nice find, anyone know if they have any sites already up & running?

Visit-----.com has been widely used and advertised for years now (in UK at least) & when getting the pure Geo is not an option then Visit----.Tv is one of the better options. IMHO

I'm sure there is already 3,4 good Visit+Geo.tv's up & running, VisitEurope.tv is one i noticed yesterday though it is very basic for now.
www.visitbarcelona.tv is a better example

as I did more research it seems that every major european city and top travel destinations with the visit prefix has been reged.

Many by the same person.

and why is not Hull in your top list richard...? lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingston_upon_Hull

this may be good for the uk geo market
why pay prem prices when visit works well.

has VisitDestination.tv got any up and running and who is he....?

i took the list from a site that listed the top cities by population. Hull was there, but not the top 20 :)

Not sure who he is or what his plans are of what sites he has up, but doing a simple who-is does give you info on him. I did a google search on the guy and I am not sure if it is the same person, but it seems that there is a well known broadcaster in the UK with the same name. Hmmm....

I dont think the owner of this site is the broadcaster of the same name after doing a little digging.

I take it this is the broadcaster you were thinking of: Link

The owner of VisitEurope.tv is also a Gordon Burns who owns a Software firm called Quicksilver (website is: www.silverquick.net)
I see no link between Quicksilver's Gordon Burns & the Tv Broadcaster though (there is a fair chance im wrong though as that has happened once before :) )

It is a decent option when the pure Geo is overpriced or taken but i'd still go out of my way to have the pure Geo.

Visit_____.tv is probably my 2nd favourite option if i couldnt get the pure Geo though & i definetley wanted a .tv

Lots of European Tourist Agencies use Visit____.com's so i would expect a decent % of them to launch .tv's as Video sites to work in partnerships with their .com's as Video becomes more important all the time.

If you cant buy Geo .Tv then maybe VisitGeo is a way of getting into this market without the 5 figure prices.
The reality is that almost every pure Geo .Tv is out of the reach of the small scale developers these days so alternative options will need to be looked at.

I'll follow in Richards lead & Email the owners of VisitScotland.tv and see if they want to pop in & tell us their masterplan. :)

Owners are a company called 'Highland Fayre Ltd' who own a number of websites based around the Scottish Highlands & selling locally sourced goods. So far i havent found them to run any developed .tv's but i will ask them about their .tv plans as its noce to have more Scots involved in .tv, may mean that at least 1 member will understand it when i swear in Glaswegian!

Edit: Just noticed VisitEdinburgh is owned by another Glasgow boy, i'll try do my best to get some info from him.
He is also a developer of some very popular local Glasgow / Scotland sites: Glasgowguide.com is one i believe.
More new developers found to be involved in .tv all the time. :)
