I regged the name w/ virtual poker in mind, but someome else told me that it comes across to them more like a virtual state of mind. First impression? Thoughts?

Seriously though, I must admit the first thing that entered my mind was the smoking type. As you suggested, it gave me the impression of a state of mind - something that helped people relax without actually smoking or doing anything illegal.

By the way, let me know when you find such a thing, ok?

Truth is, it's only been parked for a couple of mos, has been optimized for poker, and has actually had 2 clicks, which probably made more than 200 clicks, if optimized for something else. And, to be honest, the someone who told me that it came across to them as a "virtual state" of mind was me, right after I pulled up the landing page, the first time.

Maybe I could synthesize the two and have a poker site for stoners or a stoners site w/ poker. :notme:

Virtual experiences are a big turn on to me, so I love the idea of a streaming adventure w/ music, sndFx, and voice over using some Cheech and Chong type of characters, making comments and acting as "tour guides". It could be expanded to give the visitor the choice to have a "Timothy Leary", a "Bob Marley", a "Lewis Caroll", "Louis Armstrong", and even a "William Shakespeare" experience, (there is some fairly good scientific evidence that indicates that the bard enjoyed taking a hit or two off of the happy pipe, every once in awhile: Some Famous Stoners
This one looks like the kind of site that I would write a script, (ie scenario), for, create a look, put a short demo together and than pitch- I have enough personal interest projects, ATM, to keep me busy, at least, through this incarnation.

Yeah, I never have given too much thought about what mixing pot and poker together would be like. Probably depends upon the person's temprerment and the quality of the weed.

I used to drink while I played poker, and for me, that sure didn't work! If I gamble, (on a serious level), I do it on the nat, and save the partying or chillin out, for later.

Actually, I haven't gambled in years. re: don't gamble unless you want to lose most of your $$. Besides, a hefty portion of my domain name portfolio fills that need.

Seeing this domain again reminded me of something else. There are legal marijuana substitutes that contain no actual marijuana yet may smell or taste like the real thing. Could this be considered "virtual pot"?

Had to look up some definitions on that, because I've become so accustomed to the virtual, as it relates to computers and cyberspace ie Created, simulated, or carried on by means of a computer or computer network: virtual conversations in a chatroom. that my first thought was that the herbal substatutes would be considered to be "virtually" pot, but not "virtual" pot. However, for all intents and purposes, "virtual", when defined as: existing or resulting in essence or effect though not in actual fact, form, or name works.

I'm not familiar w/ the market for herbal substiutes, but using the name for a domain to sell the stuff, if there is a decent market, would be alot more down to earth and easier to implement than my virtual tour concept, which would be a major undertaking. Tx 4 idea, -RJ-. It's been awhile since I've picked up a "High Times" and hadn't thought of that possibility.

There is a little known Salvia, (sage family), that is legal, (at the moment), and actually does *more* than just simulate the flavor and look. I have a friend who grows it and I garden, as well. Hmm... Inexpensive source, legal, little known, ahead of the curve, (and the FDA). Hey, could be looking at a :bingo:
