Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

any first opinion on this : vrdevices.org --- ORG unfortunately..

My Valuation est: 200 - 600
.com could be worth 3-7k
com net org are taken all else available.
it is a bit universal.
Top price history for keyword "devices" is 5k for a .net

That demo made you feel like you were really ten stories high on a ride. Vertigo, anticipation, motion (in the sense that I felt like I was actually in moving), hesitation, fear, excitement, acrophobia, tension, etc., and most of all, fun.

I felt all of that on my computer chair in my living room.
Imagine when they put real 360 cameras on those rides. It will be like you have all the worlds rides in your living room.

You must buy with better scrutiny than your potential bidders if you are to succeed.
Since I was talking about JesusChristVR not being worth "a bunch", I can look up the sales history of all sales with just the key words jesuschrist and see that the highest dollar sale was just 2688.00 for jesuschristchurch or something like that (don't remember). Most sales with those keywords were in the $800 area.
Of course many sales are private and never disclosed to the public.
But why would adding VR to the keyword JesusChrist make it more valuable than the past sales of the keyword when other extensions especially .org are available not to mention VirtualChrist etc. The keywords are weak. Adding VR to it does not make that fact any better. There is no history for money behind the keywords. If those keywords were sex, insurance or credit, that would be different but VR is not fitting with those " except sex "as it makes no potential sense for use.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with your logic. If somebody wants the words "JesusChrist" in the domain name for their church or whatever there is an infinite variations that they can use:

JesusChrist.com
JesusChristChurch.com
JesusChristMessiah.com
OurLordJesusChrist.com....and so on.

If you want a domain for your VR experience about Jesus than there is very few good domains you can choose from. JesusChristVr being the best one. It's a question of supply and demand. You can't just take a keyword from one context and assume it will have the same value in a completely different context.

That's like saying football.com is worth less than ball.com.

I found 3 domain sales on Name bio containing the word "Jesus Christ". The lowest of those was 351 dollars. That's still at least 35 x whatever he paid for JesusChristVR. I don't see the problem.

@VRdommy has been making some valid points that probably needed making regarding the huge volume of vr registrations being made over the last few months. I imagine it's an unprecedented amount for any niche, far outnumbering the '3d' boom a few years ago.

But the difference this time is that because we're dealing with virtual reality and the creation of an alternate universe, every and any keyword has the potential to become a part of that universe, anything that can be experienced in this world will now be able to be explored virtually, potentially adding value to even some of the more abstract registrations showcased on this thread.

I own just a handful of vr names and only because I ran out of codes, but for the people holding 50 to 300 domains, hopefully in the next twelve months, three or four decent sales will allow enough returns to renew the majority of each portfolio.

I don't suppose you happened to reg UDRPVR and VRUDRP? Dangerous domains there my friend. I'd grace delete if still possible.

DrivingTestVR

Reverse reg already registered unfortunately.

Just to add to the whole debate on VRKeyword v KeywordVR. If you haven't got the reverse reg, find out the competitions price point and price yours more competitively, it could ultimately make up the minds of whoever is considering making a purchase.

Pricing could play as big a factor into sales as much as trends will. Granted some make more sense than others, it's no harm to increase your chances of a sale.

That's good if you are just looking to make a quick sale. If you can wait then set your price point at something you would be really happy with. Even if the party interested buys the other domain because it was 'cheaper', now your domain is even more valuable because the field of suitable domains has now narrowed.

I agree. But if it is a real generic word and you have time and patience you can wait until your competitor sell its name and you can get what you want with your name after that in worst case.

Definetly get both. 'Theater' is the Americanised spelling and therefore arguably worth more.

Good points. Right now my goal is to try make one sale to cover the cost of renewals for my entire VR portfolio, then I'll be all set to play the game of patience.

This is the best Oculus Rift E3 writeup I've seen. He describes in depth his experience in the Toybox demo with the Oculus Touch controllers.
