Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Sending people messages on Whatsapp about buying domains, is not something I'd do, it sounds like sending spam to me or cold calling (something i hate) and I'd imagine 95% of replies you get doing that are 'FU'.

Kickstarter is something i wouldn't use either, even if it does work, it's not the principle of the site, the principle of Kickstarter is 'donating' not 'taking' - So yeah for moral reason's i couldn't do that.

Fair play if that all that works for you though FX, you sound like your successful so I'm sure it does, everyone has their own way in doing business i guess.

Probably the best investment right now would be registering vr-keyword and keyword-vr in .com because the ones without dash are long gone, even in aftermarket there weren't many important drops in last 2 months.

That's one good thing about the whole "cybersquatter" stereotype - You get to make uneducated/overconfident folk feel stupid.

Becareful with trademarks. They already stated they are getting a trademark for the keywords in your domain. You might end up being stuck with a domain no one will want to buy if there's a Trademark for it's keywords.

remember not too many people know the inner workings of a TM. so unless they decide to contact you about their TM concerns. they might just simply skip over your domain without giving you a chance to explain to them that you got the domain before the TM and that the TM is not an issue.

how many potential buyers will you loose if they do a background check on the TM? remember most potential buyers do their "homework" way before contacting you like check uspto for TM.


I know you are free and clear on the TM because you got it before the TM was ever created. but a "tire kicker" who might be a potential buyer might get "soured" by the potential TM. simply because they aren't savvy about TM.

Just make sure you keep a copy of all e-mails, that little "go fuck yourself" won't look good on them in any dispute.

I don't think anything will happen with this though, a company (or person) trying to get a domain the weasel way, won't tell you (the current owner) they are going to try and get it the weasel way if they are serious with the threat, they'll just do it.
