Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Anyone actually do this type of thing? I mean it wouldn't have to be naughty either. Just politically incorrect.

I would not recommend doing anything like this, as it could hamper a future sale, IMO.

Why would anyone want negative content attached to a name they hope to sell to an end-user?

Just sold
Show attachment 33775
$3000 on Sedo BIN
the buyer is a USA mobile game company
end users exist! :) good hunting

I have the exact plural reverse and is 6 months older. I did have some interest in it not long ago.
Don't think it was the same folks though.
I'll be watching for the type-in traffic to jump when they launch.
Just a bonus added value for me. But I don't see myself selling until there is more competition.
Good sign that mobile vr will start driving the rising tide.
After all, there will be 10-20x the number of mobile users

I'll send you a pm regarding the end user in this case.

speaking of 4l.com VR

someone emailed me recently that I've exchanged few emails with in past.. saying that have
6x VRLL.com

they wanted 1.5k each for them..

not for my pocket now.. but.. I think it's still reasonable prices for this sort of stuff!
so i think this shows VRLL.com can still be had for reasonable prices!! about 1k!
what do you think of VrLLL.com's ?

Well that really depends on the letter combo. One example I own: VR Tut .com - IMO it could mean VR tutorial(s). If you owned VR QXV I'd say it's worth a lot less, if anything. Now that obviously depends on end users. Maybe a Chinese investor would buy it but not someone from the US or English speaking countries.

Thanks for your tips.

I have many domains with great potential and I have reserved to sell when the market is mature.
(I have already turned down offers from 4 figures)

But occasionally it's good to get cash for renewals and to increase investment.

Money in pocket is always safe money.

I invest in different niches, but VR is what is giving me better results.
I think it will be the revolution in the domaining business.

Good hunting.

sure but leaving $ on the table does u and the industry a disservice

if they r seeking your domain out and willing to pay $3k in a huge growth industry like vr with no negotiation id say its worth at least double what it went for plus

why sell fast your top domains? we all mispriced domains of course but come on folks the more we ask it will send a message to buyers that we are not giving them away!

you can justify a sale of course by saying any profit is good but when its a quality dot com its not a reason imo to blow it out

remember theres only 1 of your domain ..........

u don't get what u deserve u get what u negotiate!

unless u r desperate for cash of course sell away but if not treat those domains with more respect they deserve

just saying

This must be the buyer
Spaces is the most exciting VR startup you’ve never heard of

Spaces secured a $30 million joint venture announced earlier this month between it and China-based Songcheng Performance Development Co. Ltd., one of the biggest theme park operators in the world. Spaces will be using tools and technology it’s developing specifically for theme parks to help bring VR and mixed reality into Songcheng’s properties, which drew almost 23 million people last year, according to Spaces.

VRSE (VRSE.Works) > Here Be Dragons (Dragons.org)

...wtf?

Pitiful name-change, IMO.

&I'm not saying that because I'm invested in VR names. The dragons.org URL is nice, amazing even, but aren't they a commercial studio...? How is that fitting?? Who's in charge over there??? :xf.confused:

Edit: I see their work represents various non-profit-like causes, but theres no mention of their own mission/purpose/values in the "About" page. I don't know... Still a !@#$ name.

I also think it's a bad change, they should have bought a vr .com domain, or a brandable name.

HTC Announces VR Venture Capital Alliance with $10 Billion in “deployable capital”

We already knew that HTC was dedicating a lot of resources to help accelerate VR’s growth, but it looks like the company has taken a big step forward in this area today.

Taking to the stage at this week’s GSMA Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, HTC Vive has announced the Virtual Reality Venture Capital Alliance (VRVCA), which brings together 30 VR investment companies under one banner looking to help fund startup companies working in VR as well as augmented and mixed reality too. Along with HTC Vive itself, names include the likes of Immersion Ventures, The VR Fund, and Colopl VR Fund. The group’s president is Alvin Wang Graylin, the President of VR at HTC China itself.

According to the group’s official site there’s a staggering $10 billion in “deployable capital” between the investors, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that all of this money will be distributed between companies that pitch. It just means that moneycould be used to invest in those startups.

VRVCA will be meeting six times a year – once every two months – at offices in both Beijing and San Francisco. Hopeful startups from around the world will be able to pitch their companies in the hope of gaining some much needed investment. The site states that anyone working of VR content, base technologies, tools, platforms, hardware, peripherals, accessories or other vertical applications can apply, and it’s already possible to submit a pitch deck. We’re not sure when the first meeting will get underway, however.

Essentially, this gives entrepreneurs a great chance to give their company the spotlight, and also brings interesting new ideas and groups straight to the doors of the investors that might be interested in them. Think of it as a VR version of Shark Tank (or Dragon’s Den for the UK audience); you’ll get to pitch to a wide range of investors and those interested will work something out with you. Anyone that does pitch will need to include details like a full team background, market opportunity, and plans for monetization.

The announcement seems like an expansion of HTC’s own Vive X accelerator concept, which was announced at the end of April 2016. This is a $100 million accelerator fund that companies can apply to get a piece of, with offices in Beijing, Taipei and San Francisco to help incubate growth.

That’s a lot more money that could potentially be injected into the VR, AR and MR ecosystems. Hopefully we’ll start seeing the benefits in the very near future.

Clarification, I sold it in BIN mode, to save me a 5% commission, but there was a hard prior negotiation on Sedo with 'make offer'. His first offer was $500.

I am happy with this sale and greed is never a good counselor in any business, even in the domaining. I've got a great ROI and I can stay in this business a while longer.

Time is money and money is a matter of time.

Luck.

@dnvia was it an inbound for make offer or started with an outbound reach ?

Definitely! I just got VRPCx.com I think x is a great filler word with Vr and pc for a 5L .com

This ladies and gentleman was that "something" this industry needed, from now on there is no turning back and our technical capabilities will be the limit!
