Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Great name MRVR ,great great name!!

and about the mods, from what ive seen they are a bit confused with the differences and combination of those techs (as the general public so far ) so i think its better if the moderation of those tech threads will be done by a someone that understand about it ..
Thanks, it is a ripper, I know that , you know that, as for others .......well ??

yea see this is what I've never understood about Sedo. I know this too. so why is it we still see on DNJournal sales from SEDO in the 5 or 6 figures range? Not that I'd ever make such a sale with my VR domains. but Sedo I think has way more "eyes" watching it's auctions than Godaddy. just the Chinese market alone they've got cornered with their Chinese translated auctions.

if someone has a 6 figure VR domain which I think is most likely going to be either

VR.com or you domain VRDommy ;). where would be the best place to get higher than $10,000?
It's not that you can't sell higher than 10k.
You can not list it as the price or BIN over 10K without a appraisal.
To get 10k, you first have to have a name that shows that value to a end user.

I understand why they do it. Of all the domains investors buy, less than .05% will ever make it over 2K.
If you look at Godaddy's listings, you will see plenty of worthless domains listed at prices over 25k.
Plenty more that have value but not over 1500 but are listed 10x that.

Over 80% of hand reg's are from domainers with less than 4 years investing experience and unrealistic pricing expectations. They get those unrealistic expectations from looking at those sales and not able to say why they brought the high value they did. If they understood that when they start, they would not buy as many or ones that are so poor in quality. And you know I have pushed that point to all the Newb's.

But I always advise that you list your names with one of the major aftermarket platforms for the "more eyes" capture, AND, if you are looking to sell to other investors, list with flippa, snapnames and some of the others with those you are looking to flip. But keep a complete listing with one of the major platforms.

I do think we will see some surprises soon enough with the
Chinese/Korean/Japanese market and VR names with short order keywords that are universal.
i.e. 3dvr.com etc.

Thank GOD I have no intention on ever STARTING at $10K. ;) lol. $100 per vr domain and I'm good. any higher and that's just cherry and icing on my cake.

quick question. this whole VR thing is just advancing so much that certain "adjectives" to describe a type of VR might become "outdated" very quickly.

What do you all think? like 3D? or 4K? I've heard already that there is 8K and 16D coming very soon. are these "adjectives" garbage then?

A person can do quite nicely buying names and just placing them at 250-900 BIN and not waiting for end users.
I could have sold 60% of the VR names I have held for more than 2 years at that pricing point.
Would have been a good ROI.
Most times our own greed gets in the way of a good ROI if we fail to realize that the market for our names is not as broad as we would like to think. And/or how long it takes for a new market to open up.

While I'm sure 8K VR is coming sometime. Just look at how long it will be before they can achieve that kind of pixel density in a low persistence display. Samsung is likely the first with a 4K display and that is just 2K + 2K (per eye).
It is unlikely that 3D is going away anytime soon since there are only 3 real dimensions.
4D use to be a way to describe things that seem to have 3D's but took up no physical space...
i.e. a hologram.
Since then it has been used to describe 3D's + any or all of the 5 senses +++?.
These are the kind of things you must do your homework on to make those decisions with VR names.

The important thing to remember is not what is technically true, just what it is the consumer will use as common language and in search. That is the heart of domaining.

I have both MrVg and MrVrg .......sorry for any confusion (didn't realise I wrote the wrong name) I think the latter is pretty cool but I do like the "g" as it can represent glasses and games

A 4 Letter Vr domain which I sold on Sedo was bought by an end user. Now I'm scratching up my head :-o. did I made a good sale or he's lucky to buy the domain at that price which I evaluated and listed a year ago at BIN.:-,

Eurosport gets 5,000,000 searches per month. I'll take it even if it is a TM issue so is I bet UEFA.
VR is very specific niche and IMHO number of KW searches is not a big issue, in opposite to "regular" sites. "Cancer" has a huge search volume, but does it mean VRCancer is exellent name in VR niche ? Moreover, in terms of search, KW+VR is more searchable than VR+KW, just because the prefix VR "hacks" the KW pattern.

Whois shows this name is owned by another domainer. Unless one purchased from the other recently.

$xx offer received on Urban with the V and R at the end. Hey, interest is interest. :)

I've noticed an uptick in traffic on a few of my names, probably owing to the fact that a bunch of end users have decided to go with crappier variations of my names. I think we're still some time away from companies willing to sink large amounts into vr domains but the future is bright. I've had 6 listing views on one particular Geo name this month alone on Sedo (not parked there).

speaking of 4l.com VR

someone emailed me recently that I've exchanged few emails with in past.. saying that have
6x VRLL.com

they wanted 1.5k each for them..

not for my pocket now.. but.. I think it's still reasonable prices for this sort of stuff!
so i think this shows VRLL.com can still be had for reasonable prices!! about 1k!

Indeed that's right price but $1.5k each name isn't right . Price depends on the domain name. I bought few here on namepros last month between $800 to $1350 and 2 in direct deal above $1.5K. VR is more unique combination than CVCV. So it will definitely go above those domains. it's now, just matter of time.. Cheeers....

Naahhhh redirect it to some naughty content of which you have signed up for already as an affiliate. Then ask them what they think? Then tell them the price is now $5000.

Anyone actually do this type of thing? I mean it wouldn't have to be naughty either. Just politically incorrect. Anything that they will not want associated with their company. Articles, videos, websites.
